        I'm not in the habit to ·enrich· other people's archives with my
        own comments, but my attempts to install the ROCKET driver may be
        helpful for other users to launch their own ROCKET successfully.

        First of all, ROCKET delivers what it promises: a considerable
        hard disk speed increase. See BEFORE - AFTER

        After installing the driver trough the ROCKET.EXE menu and
        confirming the installing procedure, the program told me to
        reboot my machine. So I did and about everything went bananas.

        The reason for this I found out soon enough. The program had
        replaced my CONFIG.SYS with a new one containing nothing but...

        DEVICE = C:\ROCKET.BIN /M=8
        BUFFERS = 30

        If this should happen to you, don't yet kick ROCKET into the
        orbit, just try another, more homespun, installing approach:

        1. step: To be on the sure side, make a copy of your CONFIG.SYS

        2. step: Copy ROCKET.BIN to the root of directory C:

        3. step: Run ROCKET.EXE to find out your optimal MBS (multiple
                 block size) value.
                 Select followed by ─╜  (A)dvanced, (P)erformance,
                 Disk, (R)epetitive I/0 Benchmark

                 The row with the highest percentage (on the right)
                 indicates under column I/O SIZE your optimal MBS value.

        4. step: Add an statement in your CONFIG.SYS:
                 DEVICE = C:\ROCKET.BIN /M=x
                 where x = your MBS value. (If you have a second hard
                 disk consult ROCKET.DOC.) This statement must be placed
                 AFTER your memory manager such like EMM386, QEMM.

        5. step: Reboot your machine

        If everything works out ok, load ROCKET.BIN high. It consumes
        only 3 Kb.

        The whole procedure takes only some minutes, but it's worthwhile
        as below benchmark results taken by Norton's SYSINFO.EXE will
        show.
