3 1/2-INCH 127 MB REWRITABLE OPTICAL DISK DRIVE
MODEL MTA-3127
______________
AN OEM OFFERING FROM IBM
- Low profile
- Low power
- Low weight
- Low price
This newest magneto-optical drive from IBM offers the industry's lowest
power dissipation, at only 4.3 watts average, in a low 1-inch-high
vertical profile. At just 17 ounces, the drive is the lightest in its
class. Sophisticated sealing of the optical components gives enhanced
protection against contamination. This new model replaces, and is
compatible with, the IBM Model MD3125B and it provides outstanding
price/performance.
The Rewritable Optical Disk Drive attaches via the industry-standard
SCSI-2 interface. The IBM 127 MB Rewritable Optical Cartridge conforms
to ANSI- and ISO-developed standards for optical media.
The drive supports 127 MB rewritable (MO). 122 MB optical read-only
media (O-ROM) and 122 to 127 MB partial read-only (P-ROM) media.
As with all other IBM optical drives, this drive features the
autowrite calibration sequence. Unique to IBM, this feature optimizes
the laser power used for read/write operations to ensure consistently
high performance across a wide range of environmental conditions and
differing media.
