SUBJECT: SUN INSTALLATION
The following is the procedure used in the lab to install a
M2266S on a SUN 4/370 with OS4.1. The M2266S was set for ID0.
The CCS/SCSI-2 jumper (CNH 2, 1 & 2 ) was removed. The
installation media was a SCSI tape. Entries in bold are user
inputs. This same procedure can be used on a SparcStation 1,
except CNH2 15 & 16 may have to be removed.
At power on press "L1-Stop" key and the "a" key at the same time,
then follow the procedure below. At the end of entries enter a
RETURN if required.

This will then take the user to the format menu, and display a
list of menu items. The following functions should be used.
format> type
This will then show different drive types, choose other.
Specify drive type (enter its number): 12
(or whatever number is "other")
Enter number of data cylinders 1642
Enter number of alternate cylinders 2: RETURN
Enter number of physical cylinders 1644: 1658 RETURN
Enter number of heads: 15
Enter number of data sectors/track: 85
Enter RPM of drive[3600]: RETURN

Then formats and verifies drive, generally takes about 1 hour.
