*ALLOCATE BUFFER This buffer is the general-use buffer that is used for all SCSI commands that perform Data I/O. Select an appropriate buffer size or Enter to use the default of 64KB. An Error Window will be displayed if the specified buffer size exceeds the maximum amount of available free memory. *SELECT ADAPTER This menu displays the adapters that were found in the system. If more than one adapter is found, an adapter must be selected to scan for devices. *SELECT DRIVE This menu displays the drives that were found on the selected SCSI host adapter. Select a drive to be tested. *FORMAT UNIT Use this option with extreme caution. All data on the disk will be lost. NOTE: This function does not perform a Mode Select so the Drive's default parameters will be used. Use the Future Domain SETUP utility if the Drive's parameters need to be changed. *START/STOP Select option to Stop/Start the drive platter. *LOCK/UNLOCK Select option to Lock/Unlock the Media in place. This option is also referred to as Prevent/Allow media. For CD-ROM drives, this option Disables/enables the eject button on the front of the drive. *LOAD/UNLOAD Select option to Load/Unload Media. *SELECT TEST ADAPTER Select the appropriate Adapter Type which matches the currently selected adapter. Selecting an incorrect Adapter Type will likely to cause Errors. *USER SELECT If an attached SCSI drive is not found in the Drive selection menu, use this form to select the Device Type, Id and Lun manually. *GET PARAMETERS These parameters are used and required for all the SCSI command options. BLOCK LENGTH: Device sector size in bytes. The following three field are not required for use on the TMC-1800 (16-bit) host adapters. BLOCK FACTORA: BLOCK FACTORB: In most cases, both fields will contain the BLOCK LENGTH value. BURST MODE: For most drives, this option should be enabled. This option is used for drives that are capable of transfering a block of data with no more than an 8 microsecond delay between each byte of data. *GET TEST This form gives the option of modifying the SCSI command block, timeout value, expected length and the block factor values. Press the <F10> key to issue the command to the device. *MAIN MENU This menu is broken down into two sections. The first section displays the most common SCSI commands that can be issued to the specified device. The second section displays a few utilities to diagnose the SCSI host adapter, reselect a SCSI host adapter or device and an option to Reset the SCSI bus. NOTE: If a SCSI command is not listed in the menu, select the Custom CMD Block option to create a user defined command block. *END-USER MENU This menu displays up to 5 diagnostic options depending on the type of device being tested. *NO HELP There is no help available.
