* Released TIGA 2.05 Files for HP IGC-10 (A1086A) *
****************************************************
This disk contains the supported TIGA 2.05 files for the HP IGC-10
video graphics card as well as an updated IGCSETUP utility program.
Also included is an updated Windows TIGA driver from Texas
Instruments, and the HP ADI 4.1P driver for AutoCAD 386.
TIGA is a software interface that standardizes communication between
application software and TI-340x0 based graphics cards on IBM-
compatible personal computers. Applications still require a driver
to interface with TIGA. For Microsoft Windows 3.1, use the TIGA
driver that comes with Windows. For AutoCAD Release 12, use any
of the third party ADI 4.2 drivers that support TIGA 2.0x. The
end of this file lists some of the third party driver developers.
Installation Process Overview:
1) Install Windows 3.1 with the VGA video driver,
2) Install TIGA 2.05 files,
3) Configure the IGC-10 card using IGCSETUP,
4) Use Windows SETUP to configure Windows with the TIGA driver,
5) Confirm that everything works correctly by running Windows,
6) Update the Windows TIGA driver by following the separate
directions listed in the README file in the \WIN31 subdirectory
of this disk.
IMPORTANT: Before installing TIGA, make sure Windows 3.1 is
installed, and runs, on your PC with the VGA or
equivalent video driver.

TIGA 2.05 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
========================================================================
NOTE: Backup and remove all files in your current C:\HPIGC10
subdirectory. You don't need any files from previous
TIGA or DGIS versions. If RUNWIN.BAT exists on your system
from a previous driver, remove it.
1. Insert this disk into drive A:.
2. From the root directory of the hard disk drive you want to install
the files to, type:
CD \
XCOPY A:\ /S
This will automatically create or overwrite anything in the
C:\HPIGC10 subdirectory.
3. Append the following line to the end of your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
CALL C:\HPIGC10\SET_TIGA.BAT
This batch file will setup the TIGA environment variables
and search paths. The file contains the following commands:
SET PATH=%PATH%;C:\HPIGC10;C:\HPIGC10\TIGA;
SET HPIGC_UTIL=C:\HPIGC10
SET TIGA=-l%HPIGC_UTIL%\TIGA -m%HPIGC_UTIL%\TIGA -c%HPIGC_UTIL% -i0x7F
This assumes you have installed the TIGA 2.05 files onto
the C: drive.
4. Reboot your system to enable the SET commands listed above for
the TIGA environment. A short-cut is to simply re-run your
new AUTOEXEC.BAT to execute the C:\HPIGC10\SET_TIGA.BAT file.
5. Type IGCSETUP from the C:\HPIGC10 directory to configure your IGC card.
CD \HPIGC10
IGCSETUP
6. From your WINDOWS 3.1 directory, type SETUP.
CD \WINDOWS
SETUP
7. Select the TIGA driver (large or small fonts) for your display
driver from Windows Setup. Follow the on-screen directions to
install the Windows TIGA driver that ships with Windows 3.1.
8. At the DOS prompt type RUNWIN to load the Microsoft Windows 3.1
in high resolution. This is a batch file that initializes the TIGA
environment before loading Microsoft Windows. Confirm that Windows
is being displayed at the proper resolution.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
========================================================================
1) If environment space runs out, use the following command in your
CONFIG.SYS file: "SHELL=C:\COMMAND.COM /P /E:1024".
See the MS-DOS manual for more specific information.
2) Run IGCSETUP again if in doubt about your configuration.
3) If Windows complains that it can't find TIGA 2.05 or newer,
a) make sure TIGACD was loaded properly using RUNWIN.BAT, or
b) make sure RUNWIN.BAT is loading TIGACD correctly into 7F
and is not an earlier version trying to load DGIS.
4) Color palette changes are normal when switching between
graphics applications in Microsoft Windows. Other problems
may be related to the Microsoft Windows TIGA driver, not to
TIGA 2.05 itself. Texas Instruments, Inc., may be contacted
for the latest version of a Windows TIGA driver. The TI BBS
number available to anyone with a modem is: USA (713) 274-2417.
Included on this disk is TI's version 1.7 of the Windows TIGA
driver.
5) Upgrade your VRAM if you need 256 colors.
6) Double-buffering is not supported by HP with this release
of TIGA, nor on any previously released TIGA versions.
7) To verify correct installation, use the directory listing
below to view the file structure of C:\HPIGC10.

AUTOCAD RELEASE 11 and 12
========================================================================
This disk contains HP's ADI 4.1 TIGA driver licensed from Panacea, Inc.
and is located in the \HPADI41P subdirectory. ADI 4.1 can be used
with AutoCAD Release 11 and 12. The README file in the subdirectory
will explain how to install the driver with both versions of AutoCAD.
When using the ADI 4.1 driver with AutoCAD Release 12, however, some
new features will not be available (particularly those introduced with
ADI 4.2 like rendering in a window and 32-bit display list).
========================================================================
THIRD-PARTY ADI 4.2 DRIVER DEVELOPERS
========================================================================
Release 12 of AutoCAD by Autodesk, Inc., uses the ADI 4.2 driver
specification. Although HP will NOT supply an ADI 4.2 driver for
the IGC graphics cards, many third-party ADI 4.2 drivers do support
the TIGA 2.05 software interface. Below is a sample list of drivers
that have been tested with HP's TIGA 2.05. HP does not intend to
promote or endorse these companies in any way.
