                                 README



The GraphicsENGINE DRAM 32 card is fully VGA compatible. It supports all
the standard VGA modes. In addition to the standard VGA modes, the 
GraphicsENGINE DRAM 32 supports ENHANCED modes which offer higher 
resolutions with more colors. Drawing is accelerated by the drawing engine on 
the GraphicsENGINE DRAM 32 card. The enhanced modes are not VGA compatible 
and need special drivers for the various applications to run in these modes.

The Windows 3.X display drivers and CAD/UTILITY for the ACTIX GraphicsENGINE
DRAM 32 are provided on two diskettes.

Drivers are provided for the following applications/environments:
   
   Windows 3.X Rev. 1.3 
   OS/2 2.0/2.01 Drivers
   Autodesk ADI4.2 (Protected Mode) Display List Driver
   Microstation PC Protected Mode
   Microstation PC Real Mode
   Generic CADD
   Cadvance
   CadKey/DataCad
   VersaCad
   Microsoft Word 5.0
   LOTUS/SYMPHONY
   WordPerfect
   GEM/VENTURA PUBLISHER

To install the display drivers, insert Disk #1 in the A: or B: drive, use 
the DOS CD command to change to the A: or B: drive as appropriate and the type
INSTALL (return).  Then choose the drivers you wish to install from the
Installer Menu.
 
ACTIX is continuously working to improve software driver performance, and to
add drivers for new versions of supported application software.


                       ******* WARNING *******

Except for INSTALL.EXE, all the .EXE files are self extracting compressed 
files and should not be run directly; therefore, whenever you need to install 
a new driver please run INSTALL.EXE ONLY.
