The OS/2 2.1 audio filter driver, CDU8002, will enable the audio
mode of your SONY SCSI CD-ROM 8002 (also known as Apple CD-150).
Legal stuff

This program is based on undocumented data structures.
An error in this base device driver or in software which uses it
can cause your system to lock up and require rebooting, resulting
in data loss.
The user is advised always to make adequate Back Ups of all
valuable files or data. Because he can have no control over how
this program is used the author accepts no liability for any damage.
The author disclaims all warranties as to this software, whether
express or implied, including without limitation any implied
warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose,
functionality, data integrity or protection, in so far as permitted
by applicable legislation.

Shareware
---------
Writing this driver has taken a long time and lots of work (because
neither Apple nor Sony could/wanted to provide technical information).
Therefore this driver is shareware. This means you may try the
software for 40 days. After the trial period, you must pay a small
fee if you want to continue using the software.
For detailled information on how to become a registered user, see
the end of this file.
You are encouraged to copy and pass on the unregistered shareware
version of this program, if the program is distributed in its original
form (complete, unmodified).
Installation
------------
It is recommended you have an OS/2 boot disk ready, just in case
the system locks up during the boot process and you want to remove
the driver.
Installation is easy (you don't need to boot from your installation
disks to install the driver):
0. Ensure data mode works. If not, install a generic SCSI CD-ROM
using "System Setup".
1. Edit your CONFIG.SYS file (using the OS/2 "System Editor"):
E CONFIG.SYS
- If present, remove the line "BASEDEV=SONYCDS1.FLT", since neither
your CDU-8002 nor CDU8002.FLT are compatible with this driver.
- Add the line
BASEDEV=CDU8002.FLT
(no subdirectory name!)
2. Copy the file CDU8002.FLT to your OS/2 system directory
COPY CDU8002.FLT x:\OS2\*.* /V
where x is your OS/2 boot drive.
3. Shutdown and reboot your computer.
If all goes well and your CD-ROM is powered on, the driver will
beep twice and display a rather large shareware information screen.
This screen IS THE ONLY LIMITATION of the shareware version.
>> If no SONY SCSI CD-ROM is present, the driver won't do anything.
This driver may work with other Apple SCSI-CD ROMs made by Sony.

Technical information on the CDU-8002
-------------------------------------
The CDU-8002 is NOT compatible with the CDU-541. If you exchange
the EPROM chips you will soon note that data mode does not work
properly.

Note: You do NOT need an extra driver for MDOS sessions under OS/2.
