4.0 Errata in this release
=======================
1. The INSTALL program does not correctly identify multiple PCISCSI and
PCISCSINR controllers. If you are using multiple controllers use the CUSTOM
install feature and install the DOSCAM and SCSIDISK drivers manually.
2. Under Windows For Workgroup, the DOS driver MINICAM.SYS requires smartdrv
with double buffering. If you do not want to use smartdrv with double
buffering, install DOSCAM.SYS in place of MINICAM.SYS.
3. Chinon CD-ROM 535S drives do not work correctly under DOS/Windows
environment. Please contact Chinon for new CD-ROM driver.
4. The hard disk security feature under Novell DOS 7.0 does not function
properly. This will be fixed in a future BIOS release.
5. Before installing OS/2 on a Premiere/PCI Pentium system you must
first enter the ROM SETUP (see systems users manual) during the system
boot process and set the ISA IRQ 9 from FREE to USED (option in the
Advanced CMOS SETUP). Not following this procedure will result in system
hangs during OS/2 installation and boot-up.
5.0 Using Multiple Controllers
==============================================================================
When installing multiple controllers, the BOOT drive must be configured to
the controller card in the highest addessed PCI slot. The rules for
configuring the boot drive vary depending on the system AND the controller
cards being installed.
The setup requirements are simple:
1) When multiple controller types (PCISCSI and PCISCSINR) are used
together in the same system, the boot device must be attached to
the PCISCSINR controller.
2) When identical controller types are used, the boot device must be
connected to the controller card that is in the highest addressed
PCI slot.
Refer to you system technical manual on PCI slot addresses as this is system
specific.
For Intel's Premiere and Classic PCI Baby-AT style mother boards the following
table indicates which slot the controller with the boot device must be placed.
These Intel motherboards have three PCI slots located on them. The PCI slots
are numbered 1, 2, 3 from left to right as viewed from the front of the
system.
B = PCISCSI/PCISCSINR Controller with Boot Drive Attached
X = 2nd/3rd PCISCSI/PCISCSINR controller

For Intel's LPX style motherboards, there is a riser card which has two
PCI slots on it. The PCI slot which is closest to the top of the card
will be the slot which must contain the controller with the BOOT drive
on it.
6.0 Differences between Driver Release 1.0 and 2.0
===========================================================================
In Release 2.0 the following drivers/changes have been made:
- Updated Novell Netware drivers to support shared interrupts and
increase performance
- Updated EMM386.EXE to allow the various SCSI drivers to be
load in high memory space under DOS environments
- Updated OS/2 drivers to eliminate the 16MB memory barrier
7.0 Updated EMM386 Memory Manager
===========================================================================
Included on the release diskette is an updated version of the EMM386 MS DOS
memory manager for use with MS DOS 6.x systems. This new version allows the
user to load the PCISCSI and PCISCSINR drivers in 'high' (expanded) memory
space.
To load the SCSI drivers into high memory, move the driver invocation in your
config.sys after the EMM386 call.
Classic/PCI platforms REQUIRE an "EMM386" version dated 3/25/94, or later.
The correct version of "EMM386" is included on this diskette and is also
supplied with MS-DOS version 6.21, or later (non-OEM only).
Please take a few moments to update your system with this "EMM386"
version and ensure that it is installed properly (w/o ".SYS" extension)
in the CONFIG.SYS file. The following steps assume that MS-DOS files
reside in "C:\DOS".
1) If needed, edit CONFIG.SYS so that "EMM386" appears as follows:
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386
2) Change to the MS-DOS directory:
C:\> cd dos
2) Rename the existing "EMM386" file:
C:\DOS> ren emm386.sys emm386.old
- OR -
C:\DOS> ren emm386.exe emm386.old
3) Copy the new version of "EMM386" to the DOS directory:
C:\DOS> copy a:\emm386.exe
4) Reboot the system to allow the above changes to take effect.
