VWINFO V 1.00 ***** AN INFOSERVER FOR PCB 15.22+ This PPE is freeware. The version here is the complete version and fully functional if you enter the registration code. Without the code no log file will be written and you are limited to 2 files that can be sent. The tag line also says "UNREGISTERED". The reg code is free and all you have to do is log into our BBS (+33 47 95 77 07) and open the INFOREG door number 21. You will have to give your name and the board name exactly as in the PCBOARD.DAT file. This is only to see how many people are using the ppe. I can also send the code by E-Mail. Just send a message to me at jim.morrissey@vwaves.teaser.fr This PPE will let you automatically handle request for information. A user sends a message to your "INFOSERVER" with the subject containing the command. You may want to make a help file with a list of the commands avalible. This should be the file sent if the command is either "HELP" or an unknown command. The system also works on incoming E-mail. The PPE should be run as an event a number of time each day. Make you batch file to call the ppe. ex "pcboardm /RUNPPE;[first];[last];PWRD:[password];PPE:D:\PCB\PPE\VWINFO.PPE" It is important to use this form since the simple ppe command will not let you kill the request. If you have questions check out the command line parameters in the PCB manuel. Put all the files in the zip in the same directory. Modify the .CFG file for your board. Line 1 : Your Name exactly as in PCBOARD.DAT (case sensitive) Line 2 : The name of your BBS as in PCBOARD.DAT (case sensitive) Line 3 : Your registration code as obtained for us Line 4 : The name of you INFOSERVER. ** You must open a user account in the name you put here.If not the messages may not get posted on the BBS depending if you set your board to verify user names when writting messages. Line 5 : Number of days to set to pack out. These will be added to the present date. If you enter "0" the messages will not be given a pack out date. Line 6 : Should the request message be killed after processing ? "Y" will kill the requests while "N" will leave them in place. The ppe keeps a record of the last request it serviced in each conference and should not resend a file even if the requests are kept. Line 7 : Your tag line. This will be appended the the ppe's own hard coded tagline. The "UNREGISTERED" will not appear once you put in your reg code. Line 8 : The numbers of the local conferences that you want scanned for info requests. Enter each conference number followed by a comma. The last comma on the line is important. Line 9 : The number of your E-Mail conference. This has to be apart from the local conferences since the header info is different and the method to extract the senders address is a bit special. Line 10 : "XXXX" followed by ":" and then the name of a file to send if an unknown command is sent as the subject. Lines 11 to 45 : "COMMAND:FILENAME.XXX" These are the files to send upon receipt of a command. The program only looks at the subject of the message, the body is not checked. Any command you list will send the file on the same line. The ":" is needed. Since these files will be sent as messages they must be text files since the program does not handle attachments or encoding. When unregistered the file list is limited to the first two files. The file called "LMSGR.TXT" contains the number of the last message treated by the PPE in each conference. In the case of a problem you can modify the file with a text editor and change the numbers. This version of the program is limited to Conference numbers 0 to 99. I think most will use the program only on the main board conference. A future version may get rid of the limitation.
