VIEW.PPE v2.0 & VIEW2.PPE v2.0 ------------------------------ Written by Edward E. Braiter (c) Edward E. Braiter Briefly, these PPE will allow the sysop to define at which level will a user see a particular PPE and for which text screen. Installation ------------ Example: Suppose you don't want users AT and ABOVE security level 80 to see a screen that you set up in the CMD.LST, you would enter Command Security PPE/MNU or replacement V 0 C:\PCB\PPL\VIEW.PPE VIEWSTAT.SCR 79 Command: V is the character to be entered by the user. Security: 0 is the minimum security to even run the PPE. In the above case anyone really can atleast access VIEW.PPE. PPE/.... First part is the path and name of the PPE, the second part is the screen to show. The second part MUST be in the PPE directory but you can name it anything you want and put anything you want. The third part is the highest security level that will view the the file (i.e. level 79 will view VIEWSTAT.SCR but level 80 will note. NOTE: Since CMD.LST defines a minimum security level, you can define in the above example that the minimum security will be 40. Therefore all users between (and including) levels 40 and 79 will see VIEWSTAT.SCR. With VIEW.PPE you don't need to show the path of the screen file as the default will be where the PPLs are placed. With VIEW2.PPE you should specify exactly where that screen is. It may be anywhere on your hard disk. So you can specify the following in one of your text files: !C:\PCB\PPL\VIEW.PPE TEST.SCR 70 which is the same as !C:\PCB\PPL\VIEW.PPE C:\PCB\PPL\TEST.SCR 70 Revision History ---------------- v1.00 - Initial release v2.00 - Added VIEW2.PPE which will allow the sysop to specify any text file on the computer. - Set the highest level for the second "token" to 999.
