°±²Û DMSOFT Û²±° Write Usernet.ppe v1.00 This is a simple ppe that will allow you to write to the usernet.xxx file while on any node on your BBS. I wrote it to clear the name off a node that is hung up but it can be used to create usernet displays on nodes that do not even exist. You will need two additional files in order to have usrnet.ppe run properly. The first is caller.lst which is a list of miscellaneous caller names in the following format: "JOHN DOE". These names are randomly selected by the PPE if desired and placed in the usernet.xxx file. The second file is city.lst which is composed of various city names that can be randomly selected to be placed in the usernet.xxx file as the city and state. This must be in the format: "CITY, ST" Place a command in your command.lst such as usr with the security level of the sysops security. When you type USR at the main board prompt, you will be asked for a node number to write the new info. This ppe will not change the node that you are currently on. Then you will be prompted for a node status. You can type H for help and the node status info will be explained to you. Then you will be asked for a user name - either enter a user name ( make sure to use quotes before and after the name) or you can press return and the PPE will randomly select a user name from your caller.lst file. After that you will be prompted for a city - state and again place it within quotation marks. After the input questions, the ppe will automatically show you the usernet file by the who command. Enjoy - cuz its free....
