His was released as freeware in '93 and I'll continue that tradition Program: EXUSER.PPE v2.1 - Compiled with PPLC 3.20 (req. PCB 15.22+) This program can be used to exempt certain users from forced password changes. This can be useful when the BBS is a mail hub and you wish to save your nodes the hassle of having their mail runs interrupted by forced paswword changes. It can also be useful for that occasional user that screams bloody murder about having to change his pet password. Installation: Installing this PPE is simple. Just run it from a text file that is sure to be displayed to user. A security specific file is a good example. A logoff script file is another example. Just be sure that its attached in a place that the user must pass. This is the line you will need to add: !d:\path\EXUSER.PPE You will now need to edit the EXUSER.DAT file. This file is used to store the names of all users you wish to exempt from forced password changes. EXUSER.DAT <========= EXUSER Data File. (Must be in the same directory that the EXUSER.PPE is located) ( Sample Included ) LINE 1: ### <========= Number of users listed in this file LINE 2-?: USER NAME <========= Name of user you wish to exempt from forced paswword changes The number of users is basically unlimited (2+ Billion) but as the number grows, so does the time it takes to read the list. Now all you have to do is copy all the files to the path you specified in you command line.
