SuperWho - v1.2 - (C) 1994 Gerry Schechter ========================================== SuperWho is a fun utility for PCBoard Sysops. It will allow you to add fake users to your system, by modifying the WHO display. This is accomplished by reading your USERNET.XXX file, and when the first free and down node is found, randomly reading a fake user entry from the SWHO.DAT file and displaying that to your users. Note that SuperWho does not modify USERNET.XXX in any way. The SWHO.DAT file layout is documented within the file itself. Why bother with this stupid .PPE? Good question! Unlike PCBMONI, SuperWho will allow you to have fake users constantly changing without manual intervention. Also, SuperWho will allow you to show a node running an event. Try that with PCBMONI. It won't allow it. Oh, and you can also use lower case, which you also cannot do with PCBMONI or USERNET for that matter. What's the catch? Well, there's only a small one. The un-registered version is limited to faking one node at a time, whereas the registered version is only limited by the number of nodes you're licensed for. Other than that, there are no delays or beg screens or copyright notices displayed by the un-registered version. Installation is a snap. Just make an entry in your CMD.LST pointing where you put SuperWho.Ppe. For registered users, SuperWho will accept one command line parameter which tells SuperWho how many nodes to fake. So, your CMD.LST might look like: C:\PCB\PPL\SWHO.PPE 2. It's that easy! Questions, comments, etc., can be directed to me on my BBS at (914) 964-0419, or via InterNet at Gerry.Schechter@Execnet.Com.
