Documentation of RNuke. Version 2.0 ________________________ Programmed by: Ron Kimball Rt 2 Box 33 Medicine Lodge, Ks., 67104 (316) 886-9813 My BBS: Arrowhead BBS (316) 886-9802 28.8 Modem I About these Doc's II Disclaimer III What is RNuke? IV Installing RNuke V Registration of RNuke VI Notes by the Author ________________________ I About these Doc's I hope you don't expect a term paper here, cause I'm not one to write Doc files very well. Luckily, it is not hard to install and run RNuke. I will provide better Doc's as soon as my Asst. Sysop, who does all of my text files, BBS menus, etc, writes them . ________________________ II Disclaimer What the heck, I see it in all the other programs so here it is: I do not guarantee this software to do anything, nor do I guarantee that it will not do anything. Use at your own risk. Basically, YOU, the end user, can not sue me for anything. Your use of the program indicates your acceptance to these statements. ________________________ III What is RNuke? RNuke is a PCBoard Programming Language program that simulates (kinda) a war between every player that plays the game. There is help files available for the user while he/she is in the game. No offensive language is used anywhere in the game ( unless it is in mail from player to player). Being a PPL file, you may not use it unless your BBS is PCBoard! If you would like to see it programmed for any other BBS software, let me know, and maybe, just maybe, I would be convinced to do it. Depends on the number of requests I get. RNuke is rather fun and is in it's infant stage of development, which means, it will only get better. It was spawned by the dissapointment, then anger of another door game that I wanted to register until I seen the price that the Author wanted. So, taking 400 page manual in hand, began coding the game RNuke. As I write these Doc's, it is hard to continue when I really want to go back to expanding the game. So, while the version you have here is the most recent you can find on most BBS's, it is certain to be out of date at my BBS. If you really can't wait for me to release the next version, you can call my BBS and download the latest version, which I will put on the BBS anytime any changes are made. ________________________ IV Installing RNuke To install RNuke, simply put the following files in the directory that you wish to run RNuke from: NUKE.PPE HELP.PCB MHELP.PCB Then, go into PCBsetup, choose file locations, configuration files, name/loc of Default CMD.LST file, then Press F2 to edit this list. Then press alt-I to insert a line. Cursor to that new line and put in a line similiar to this one: Command sec minute use keystroke substitution ======================================================================= RNUKE 0 0 0 PATH\NUKE.PPE Substitute your path to the directory where RNuke files are in PATH above. My line looks like this: RNUKEM 0 0 0 \PCB\PPL\RNUKE\NUKE.PPE Now, press ESC and push Y to save. ESC several times to exit PCBsetup. All that is left, is to notify your Users that RNuke is available by using the command RNUKE at the menu. ( my users type RNUKEM ). Notify them by putting a clip into your NEWS file, E-Mail them by addressing a message to @USER@ and tell them about RNuke. Modify your menu to show RNUKE as a command. That's it, Bud! You're done. ________________________ V Registration of RNuke At the present time, the only way to register RNuke is to send $10.00 to me at the address listed at the beginning of this Doc. Fill out the ORDER.FRM and indicate how you want to recieve the registered version. All future releases of RNuke will acknowledge your registration. You won't have to pay again ever. Check out ORDER.FRM for more info. ________________________ VI Notes by the Author I have been 'into' computers now for 20 years. My first one was a Radio Shack TRS-80 with a Z-80 microprocessor and a whopping 4 k of RAM! Black and White Monitor, Cassete Tape backup. No Hard Drive or Floppy Disk! Oh, and the price? 600 bucks. After adding more memory, floppy disks, upgrade ROM, I had around $2000 in it. And the CPU ran at 1 MHZ. Now, I have 5 computers, 2 Amiga 500's, 3 IBM compatibles. The latest purchase is a Pentium 100 Mhz and does it ever cook! What will the next 20 years bring? I can only hope I'm here to find out. Anyway, I hope you enjoy RNuke, and will consider registering it. My hope is to help bring affordable games/software to the masses and of course at the same time, be compensated for my time with the registration money I recieve. Take care and hack those keys!
