At which time, you are expected to either pay for it or remove it entirely from your system. Registration provides full operation of this PPE and entitles you to unlimited free support and free future upgrades for the term of one year. The only crippled aspect of this PPE will be a limited search capability. Until this PPE is registered, you can only perform exact searches. If you would like to see how large amounts of titles are displayed, please try entering either KING,STEPHEN for an exact search, or some other prolific author. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Installation & What you need: This PPE must be placed in its own directory, and your KEYBOOK.DBF file MUST also reisde there. Two index files will be created: AUT.NDX 5.6meg TIT.NDX 10meg Be sure you have the disk space available before proceeding. These files are essential for the PPE to work. Also, you may wish to make a back-up of your DBF file at this time, just in case. This archive should contain: keysrch.ppe Main PPE to install to BBS init.ppe Used once to make NDX files keysrch.cfg Simple 2 line CFG file install.doc This file info.txt Small FAQ, how to order, ect.. register.frm How to register this PPE Installation is relatively quick and very simple. You must first run the file INIT.PPE in order to create you .NDX files to work with the database. Running it from the command line is perfectly fine, and probably simpler: pcboard.exe /ppe:d:\pcb\kb\init.ppe You should see a screen stating: Main Database opened, intializing index files.. This should take anywhere upwards of 5 minutes. (On my 486dx33). This is a one time deal, unless your .NDX files get corrupted or something like that. After this is completed, you should have two .NDX files in the PPEs directory. If not, do a DIR /s to find them and move them to the proper directory. Next, is the KEYSRCH.CFG file, it contains 2 lines: .10 <-- This is the decimal Mark-Up Value 10 <-- This is the 'number' Mark-Up Value These two values will be used for the on the fly pricing in the PPE and can be changed whenever you feel like. !!!!! There IS a check in the PPE to make sure that you do not UNDER price a Book! If using a 10% discount and the book is only offered at 5%, then the PPE will offer NO discount on the item. But please if you find a Price discrepancy, let me know immediately!!! Every thing seems to work fine @10%.. !!!!! After that has completed, simply install the KEYSRCH.PPE into your CMD.LST file, or a MNU file, whichever is appropriate for your system. There is a small online help file, and a information file informing users how to order. Currently they cannot order from within the PPE.. I had thought that the users would call KeyDATA, but upon further inspection of the .NFO file, I found out WE had to place the order.. No biggy, just didn't get to add support for ordering yet.
