Intelec Database, Application, and InBasket PPE's (c) Herbert Bushong 1996 (tm) Intelec - John Young If you are upgrading from 1.0, see the History file for important changes! These PPE's are freeware to all Intelec systems, and may be freely distributed. No guarantees are made as to usability on your system. They work here, and should for you. In order to use the ppe's, you must also have the current information and InBasket files available. The files are named IN_yymm.ZIP and INB_yymm.ZIP, where yymm is the year and month (ie. 9601 for Jan. 1996). This doc file will get you set up and running. All the commands are pretty straight-forward and so I'll let you explore them yourself. I recommend creating 2 subdirectories off it named IN and INB, like so: INPPE ÃÄIN ÀÄINB Extract the IN_yymm.ZIP file into the IN directory, and the INB_yymm.ZIP file into the INB directory (each month overwriting the files). In order for users to be able to download the IN_/INB_yymm.ZIP files from the PPE, the files must also be in your DLPATH. Edit the INTELEC.CFG file (see details below). {If this is a first time install, copy the SAMPLE.CFG to INTELEC.CFG and edit. If you are upgrading, make the appropriate updates if necessary to your current CFG file.} Edit your CMD.LST file (PCBSETUP:File Locations:Configuration Files) and add an entry for the PPE: Charges Per PPE/MNU File Specification -or- Command Sec Minute Use Keystroke Substitution ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ ÍÍÍ ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ 1) INTELEC 25 0 0 D:\PCB\PPE\IN\INTELEC.PPE Add the command to your menu so your users know it's there and you're all set! The INBASKET.PPE and INTELAPP.PPE are called from the main INTELEC.PPE INTELEC.CFG ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ The Config file is shared by all three PPE's and must reside in the same directory as the PPE's. The first 25 lines are used, everything after is ignored. These can be modified as various additions are made to the nodelist, such as countries or software. The Files, and formats are as follows: MODEM.LST --------- List of modem types found in the nodelist, 1 entry per line, case-insensitive. NETSW.LST --------- List of Network Software, 1 per line, case-insensitive. The first 3 letters MUST be unique. BBSSW.LST --------- List of BBS Software, 1 per line, case-insensitive. The first 3 letters MUST be unique. COUNTRY.LST ----------- List of Countries, 1 per line, case-insensitive. The first 3 letters MUST be unique. STATES.LST ---------- List of States/Provinces. The 2 letter abbreviation in starting in Column 1, then the full State/Province name starting in Column 10 (20 characters max) This format MUST be followed. OVERVIEWS ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ INTELEC.PPE ----------- This PPE will allow searching/displaying the various conferences available and the various BBS's that carry Intelec. It also displays certain information files. Finally, it runs the INBASKET & INTELAPP.PPE's. INBASKET.PPE ------------ This PPE can be used to quickly browse the various InBasket Files from one menu. INTELAPP.PPE ------------ If you are a hub, this PPE allows a prospective node to Apply for membership to Intelec, quickly and easily. The PPE prompts them for their various info, then automatically sends the application to the Network Administrator in your Regionals Conference, optionally sending a copy to you in a local conference. It will also retain a log of all applications sent, for your records. *If you want to restrict using the Application PPE by minimum security level, create a file called INTELAPP.LVL, and on the first line enter the minimum security level needed to use the application generator. SUPPORT/QUESTIONS ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ I can be found in many of the conferences in Intelec: IS_Support PL Programming, NetAdmin, Regionals, Programming, Basic, and many others.
