CD Lister v1.0 - June 1995 (Freeware!) Author: Jesse Keene (email: jesse.keene@primec.com) Compiled with PPLC 3.10 If you wish to run this PPE with any version of PCBoard below 15.21, you must recompile it with an earlier version of PPLC Source is included, feel free to modify it as you see fit. Program Description: This PPE is for sysops who have more CD's on their system than they can have online at once. [What does it do?] The PPE detects which CD(s) you currently have online and off-line. it displays to the user which CDs are currently available. Example display: ÚÄÄ CD Title ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Status ÄÄ¿ ³ Sample Title #1 ON-LINE ³ ³ Sample Title #2 off-line ³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ Installation: Step 1) Unzip CDLIST10.ZIP into it's own directory (ie C:\PCB\PPE\CDLIST) Step 2) Edit the CDLIST.CFG file to match your system. [see below] Step 3) Add CDLIST.PPE to your CMD.LST and/or logon diplay files. - Anywhere you want which to list to the users which CDs on the system are available (and unavailable) That's it! How's it work? Each CD that you want listed requires two lines entered into the config file, the first for the title, the second for the ID filename (used to detect CD). The ID file is ANY filename on the CD that is only valid for _that_ CD. The PPE displays the CD title, then "ON-LINE" if the ID file is found, and "off-line" if the ID file is NOT found. Configuration: This archive should include a sample configuration file (CDLIST.CFG). The configuration file is setup this way; Line 1: Number of CD's Line 2: Title of first CD Line 3: identification file for first CD Line 4: Title of second CD Line 5: identification file for second CD ...and so on... Note: You should include the COMPLETE path and name of each CD's Identification File (including drive letter). Once you edit the config file, your set! Enjoy! :-) If you find this PPE of any use, GREAT! If you do use this PPE, I would like you to send me some email (jesse.keene@primec.com) to let me know and give me an idea of how many people are using this PPE.
