Registered Version: The non-registered version is not entirely seamless, as it sends out a short introduction that this program is running, and states it is unregistered. The only advantage of registration is removal of that notice to then only state that a second account is being loaded on your BBS (1 very short sentence, with no mention of this program, or my BBS, etc). If you continue to run this program, "nag" screens will begin going to your Users, as it is illegal for you to continue such use. Obviously, if your conscience believes it proper to continue, the software will function completely properly for you in the future, but it is hoped you will do the right thing and register, like most PCBoard Sysops, who do not believe in software theft. This is not free software or in the public domain, this small inconvenience has been included to help remind anyone using this software that registration is required after proper evaluation that it serves your particular purpose as you see it. To register, just let me know what you wish the one line in the 2ACT.CFG to read as your BBS name (up to 55 characters), and you will receive the proper registration number. With the unregistered version, there MUST be messages defined for the LOCKED OUT and NOT ALLOWED Users. In the registered version, no messages need to be displayed. With the registered version, the LOCK=ALL setting in the 2ACT.CFG results in no message display to a User with no entry in the 2ACT.NAM file, making the door ENTIRELY INVISIBLE to any User not entered by the Sysop. This, combined with the "Loading..." being removed from the PCBTEXT. file, and the name of the Second Account door to be loaded not on the menu, combines to form a second BBS that is invisible to anyone not first placed there by that Second Account BBS sysop. Registered Users are registered for future releases of 3.x versions at this time, and can get the latest from Polymath One BBS, or any other BBS choosing to make it available. Charge cards are presently accepted for registration of 2ACT...If you have M/C, VISA, American Express or Discover, you can register online at Polymath One. The registration number will be posted for you ASAP afterwards.
