But now you can give it any look. I've added some pretty neat features in this one I think. It's now possible to use your own ansi's, modify every position and colour. Some great looking samples have been included in this pack. Just unzip and copy the sample you like best, and don't forget to change the path of the ansiscreen in the join.cfg file. And best off all (in my humble opinion:)), is the security level you can give for every separate conference. All coding and even the ansi's were done by me :). GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION ޱ This Joiner has several features I haven't seen other joiners have. Here are some of the most important ones: Conferences can be divided up in groups as much or how you want it best. Make files groups and mailing network groups. Whatever.. Best features for sysops is the minimum security level required for axxess you can give to separate conferences. Just give a conference a level you want it to have, and only the users with enough axxess will see them. Others won't see diddly.. No need to give all conf's a level. When no level is entered, it will assume it's accessible for everyone. The groups also have a security option. If you want your Internet conferences accessible only for your paying users (for inst: >= 50), just give it that level. All other users won't be able to highlight that particular group. Take a look at some of my sample group listings. Fully configurable now. Edit your own ansi's, colours and positions of the lightbars, groups, etc.. You're no longer stuck to that Norton Look.. But I can't imagine why you shouldn't stick to it :) I've included samples of several types of boards. Yezz.. even a Shareware/PD board can use it now.. hehe.. You can even choose how to startup the ppe: With Groups first or conferences first. I'll explain some of the cursor keys that are available in this ppe. And it's quite a lot.. [UP/DOWN/2/8] Choose Conference/Group [LEFT/RIGHT/4/6] Toggle Group/Conference listing [PGUP/PGDN/HOME/END] Move cursor in a big way :) [ESC/Q] Quit/abort the ppe [ENTER] Make the choice If you're using the Norton Commander look, you can use another option, not recommended for any other look... Just to promote NC.. [E] Enter conferencenumber manually INSTALLATION ޱ With this new version is even easier to install. Just run the INSTALL.PPE that came with this package and answer a few simple questions. Before you do, you have to make sure of how many groups you will be using, and from what conference they start and stop. You can allways edit the files the ppe creates, after installation. If your using the my "old" joiner, all you need to do is copy the files JOIN.PPE and JOIN.CFG to that directory. In the JOIN.PPE itself, I didn't change much. Just another line was added in the JOIN.CFG file. Now you can set the lenght of the lightbar used to highlight the conferences. To run the installer, unzip all files to the directory of your choice, and login locally to your board. Then type at your command prompt: PPE \INSTALL.PPE After that, all you have to do is install it in you CMD.LST: 1. Load PCBSETUP 2. Press B ( File Locations ) 3. Press B ( Configuration Files ) 4. Edit CMD.LST ( Press F2 at the CMD.LST File ) Example CMD.LST: Ŀ Charges Per Command Sec Minute Use PPE/MNU/Keystroke Replacement J # 0 0 \JOIN.PPE 5. Edit or remove any GROUP.* file(s) to match your own conference setup. Here's the listing of groups I'm using on my board as a sample. The security levels are quite important to set them correctly. Because a user with an insufficient level, will not be able to access that particular group. The lightbar will skip that entry. File: GROUP.LST 6 <-- The number of groups you're using in the PPE Files Conferences <-- Short description of group number 1 10 <-- The security level required for this group! Amiga/console <-- Short description of group number 2 20 <-- Etc... WarezNet 20 It's advisable to put your main files conferences in the first group, for obvious reasons. A new feature in this release is that you can (optionally) enter a security level per conference. If the user doesn't have the level required, he/she will not even be shown (!) that conference. No more users hassling you for axxess to that conference... hehehe.. The conferencenumber and securitylevel are delimited by a single space. File: GROUP.1 0 10 <-- The conference number and minimum security level Main Board <-- Your short description of it.. 1 20 <-- Etc.. PCB Utils 2 40 Gamez etc.. etc... 6. Edit the description listing to match your group setup. PCB colour codes are allowed, and don't count as a character. The long descriptions of the group, will show up at the position you specified in the JOIN.CFG file (explained later in this doc), When that certain group is highlighted. If you have any suggestions or found bugs in this one, please call and I'll try to fix it in a next release. For a next release I'm thinking of a random display of ansi's and config files or adding subgroups.. I'm not sure. You tell me.. Choose apply at the that kewl Norton Commander Matrix, and fill out the questions (not many). When it asks for the systempassword, it's: HELLHOLE. Leave me some kind of mail when you want axxes.
