Go to the File Locatioans option of the main menu, and then goto configuration files. Highlight the CMD.LST file and press F2 to go into editing mode. The first column defines the key you want to use for the PPE. I used 'R' (minus '') so that when people attempt to read mail, the get this. Then set the security protection to the correct level, (this can be done either in the PPE w/ Lozer Lockout or in the cmd.lst) finally, add the correct path and name of the ppe. It should look similar to this (if your installing in the same location): C:\PCB\PPE\CIAMRE.PPE ^^^^^^^^^^|^^^^^^^^^^ Path and |Actual PPE Dir of PPE|File Name Now, go into you pcb\gen directoy and edit your pcbtext file using MKPCBTXT. Edit lines 425 and 584 to read the same thing. This will allow this version to 'loop' back to the menu after most commands. CiAMRE is now installed in your system. For configuratio, keep on reading. ------------------------------------- Setting Up CiAMRE PPE ------------------------------------- Setup up is very simple. Unzip the archive into the correct directory (as specified in your CMD.LST file). Edit the CIAMRE.CNF file to set the correct lozer level and the batch file of the QWK program. Follow the instructions in the CNF file to set up multiple ansi displays and everything else This PPE has external QWK support for EVEY PCB QWK compatible program out their. Just call up ANY local PD board and download a QWK mailer (I suggest Qmail 4). Unlike PCB doors, this file must be an actual batch file and DOES NOT need to go in your doors.lst file. This is just a batch file exuceted off the menu. To setup the QWK mailer, read the damn docs that came with that!!! I have supplied a old unregistered version of QM4 and set it up on the C:\MRE\QWK directory. You can either use this setup or change it to where ever you would like to put it but either way, you MUST run QMSETUP to setup you confrences. I HIGHLY suggest the use of a QWK mailer. It will free up more of your board for couriers cause the message d00ds will be on and off in a sec. If you do not wish to use a QWK mailer, simply delete the QWK.BAT file and create a colorfull, lively ansi called QWK.TXT and put that in your CiAMRE directory. This will be displayed to the user when he types 'T' ------------------------------------------ Setting Up the Internal Confrence Selection ------------------------------------------- HAHAHA, thought you were done didn't you??? This is the hardest part of CiAMRE setup. This option will allow you to add message bases and areas simular to a Forum/Vision Message base. This option will allow an unlimited amount on message bases and areas. To set up CJM with you PCB setup, first go into PCBSetup and right down the number and name of all your confrences. Then, edit the file located in the CJM directory called MCONF.ANS. This is the ansi that will be displayed to the callers when they select J. This ansi should have the name of the general message base(s) you are going to add. i.e. Local Messages, CCi Net and Inet. Once you decided on a way to split up your confrences, edit the file MBASE#.ANS where the # equals the number of the base it corresponds to. This ansi display the actually message areas in that message base. THE NUMBER OF THE AREA MUST BE THE SAME NUMBER OF THE CONFRENCE AS SET IN PCBSETUP | CONFRENCES. Do this with each message base/area you want to create. To create more then three message bases, just make another file called MBASE4.ANS and for a fifth base name it MBASE5.ANS etc.. If you don't understand any of this which you probaly don't i'll explain how it works. When the user selects a message base from the mconf.ans it uses the users actual input plus MBASE to search for the area ansi. I.E. the user types 'A' it looks for MBASEA.ANS, if he/she type '1' it looks for MBASE1.ANS ectera ectera ectera. If it can't find the particular ansi that the user selected it returns a INVALID AREA which means either you did something wrong, or the user tried to enter a area that didn't exsist. Congrulations, you're at the end of the docs.
