It may not be used on some shitty shareware cd or the such. To prevent any possible PPE tampering, please download any FI PPE release from an FI site. ANy FI PPEs released are 100% backdoor free. If you find one in your version, it WAS NOT in the original source. . Installing Fi-Matrix v1.0 . ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ Installing the matrix is a simple three step process. © 1 ª Pkunzip the matrix zip file into a directory of its own. We suggest using C:\PCB\FI-MATRX. © 2 ª Run the file, MAKE_FI.BAT, using the proper command line options. The syntax for MAKE_FI.BAT is: MAKE_FI [PCBTEXT PATH] [FI-MATRIX PATH] PCBTEXT PATH is the full pathname for your current PCBTEXT file. FI-MATRIX PATH is the pathname that fi-matrix is unzipped in. If you are using the default PCBoard setup on drive C: and you have unzipped FI-MATRX into the directory, C:\PCB\FI-MATRX, you would type: MAKE_FI C:\PCB\GEN\PCBTEXT C:\PCB\FI-MATRX This will change the pcboard prompts for use with the matrix. It will also add a @WAIT@ at the end of the \GEN\NEWUSER file, and it will move your GEN\WELCOME file and create a new WELCOME file that will run the matrix. © 3 ª Edit the CMD.LST file (Go into PCBSETUP option B, B, and hit F2 at the CMD.LST option). Add an entry in CMD.LST like this: I 10 C:\PCB\FI-MATRIX\FILTER.PPE 999 ÀÄÄÂÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ ³ Or whatever DIR Matrix is in ÄÙ INSTALLATION NOTE: The MAKE_FI.BAT file is not bulletproof. It assumes the NEWUSER and WELCOME files are in C:\PCB\GEN. If they are not in that dir, please change the bat file to the proper dirs. . Using Fi-Matrix v1.0 . ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ After installation, FI-Matrix is ready to run. Obviously you will want to customize the matrix. The following is a list of files and how to configure them. WELCOME[#] (i.e. WELCOME1, WELCOME2, WELCOME3 ...) These are the welcome files that are displayed when the matrix first runs. These files can be straight ansis, or in PCB @ code format. Please be sure that all your WELCOME files are numbered sequentially starting at 1 (WELCOME1), and the total number of WELCOME files are defined in FI-MATRX.CFG (more on that later). MATRIX[#] (i.e. MATRIX1, MATRIX2, MATRIX3 ...) These are the Matrix Menu files displayed. You may have as many matrix files as you wish. They may be in straight ANSI or PCB @ Code format. You need not type the matrix menu text in the ansi, because the program automatically will write it in for you as defined in the MATRIX[#].cfg file (see next entry). MATRIX[#].CFG This is the configuration file for the matrix ansi. Every Matrix screen MUST have a .cfg file. The .cfg file is made up of 7 lines. lines 1-6 are the x, y positions of each matrix selection, and line 7 is the x, y position of the status line. Please refer to the defualt MATRIX1.CFG file for more info. NOTE: MATRIX1 is the first matrix ansi, and its configuration file is MATRIX1.CFG. MATRIX2 = ansi, MATRIX2.CFG = config. LOGIN This is the LogIn ansi screen. You can change it to anything you want to. Just be sure that the character at position 1,1 (upper left hand corner) is . (period). Otherwise, the screen will be refreshed after every prompt during login. Change it and you'll see what i mean. Also, its best to keep this ansi to 22 rows down (80x22 ansi). UserName/PassWord/ Status positions can be anywhere on the screen, they are defined in FILTER.CFG (see below). REGISTER This is the New user registration ansi. Keep this file to 80x22. You can change the position of any of the prompts. Just redefine the positions in the FILTER.DAT file. (see next). FILTER.DAT This is the file that holds all the prompts used by Fi-matrix. This file is used by FILTER.PPE. All prompts in the file can be changed. You can add @Xxx Color codes to the prompts and define the x and y positions where the prompt is displayed. For detailed information, please display the FILTER.DAT program. FI-MATRX.CFG This is the main configuration file. In this file you can define the New user password, Number of WELCOME and MATRIX files ON/OFF status of menu selections, and the 2 user definable matrix options. User Definable Matrix Options. Fi-Matrix allows you to define 2 matrix options. If you are a PPE programmer your self, this is how you would integrate your ppe's into fi-matrix. By editing the FI-MATRX.CFG file, you can run your PPE as a matrix option. We will also provide a full set of FI-MATRX add on PPE's for use witht he user definable matrix option. Look out for them. þ To remove fi-matrx (WHY???), just copy the PCBTEXT.FI and WELCOME.FI files þ to PCBTEXT and WELCOME. Then edit the NEWUSER file and remove the @WAIT@ þ on the last line. if you have any questions, comments, or criticisms on this product, please call Furtive industries WHQ, CyberHell BBS.
