New User Upload v1.0 by Drake -- Intro -- Well I wrote this a while back, thought I would throw it out to whoever might want it. There are two parts. The first will scan for a new user and find out if they want to upload or just logoff. If they choose to upload, then they will be sent to the second part of the ppe. They will then only be allowed to do an Upload or Logoff, regardless of what your Security Levels for different commands are in PCBSetup. I wrote this because I was changing some security levels, and didnt feel like changing all the levels in PCBSetup, the BRDMXX, the CMD.LST, etc etc, so I just thew this together. -- Features? -- Most things are definable, or can be made upon request. There is no registration or shit like that, I have a job. And as usually, there are never backdoors in my originals (but who can stop people from hacking them when ECR or AEGIS makes a new PPLC/PPLX?). And as usual I use lightbars and not an ascii interface (what year is it?). -- Installation -- Put NUU.PPE in your login procedure (normal users will not see anything when this runs, that would be lame). Put it after any voting system but before all your oneliners/etc (make sure you set your voting systems to NOT logoff users after their application is saved). Also, since the NUU PPE can stuff any command, this would go perfectly right before a "Turbo Logon?" PPE so that the user wont go through your logon. Rename the BRDM20 file that is included to BRDM?? where ?? is your New User Security Level. Edit the last line in the BRDM?? file so that the path to NUUMENU.PPE is correct. Now move the BRDM?? file to your \GEN directory or wherever you keep the normal BRDM. Lastly, edit the NUU.CFG and change the New User Security Level and any of the default settings you may object to. Thats it, now go test it to make sure its all setup correctly. [Note: If you have changed the name of your Main Menu from BRDM (the default in PCB) to something else, you will need to rename the included BRDM to whatever name you use]. Thats it, I tried to make it sound simply, but feel free to contact me for assistance. -- Last Words -- If for some reason I fucked up and there is a bug, or the docs just arent worded right for you to install this, contact me via internet email at ben.stein@wizardsbbs.com or call my board (the application hq for fsn). Oh, if you have a need for a PPE that doesnt exist, contact me and I will whip something up. -- Life Story -- 4.11.95 v.01 Wrote It 6.24.94 v1.0 Released It
