Quintessential Information UPDIZ.PPE 1.0 is a local file upload processor Systems (QIS) for PCBoard. Will automatically upload any 10520 Yonge St. number of files located in a subdirectory Unit 35B, Ste. 310 using PCBoard's local upload processing Richmond Hill, ON capabilities. Uses your own PCBTEST.BAT to L4C 3C7 ON CANADA verify each file. Easy configuration and ßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßß cleans up after itself. Shareware by QIS. BBS: (905) 889-4377 For non-members to logon, use the demo account QIS PPE DOWNLOAD. =============================================================================== UPDIZ.PPE Version 1.0 ======== PURPOSE: ======== Uploads (locally only) files located in an indicated subdirectory. Ensures that all files all processed as you have defined in PCBTEST.BAT. Great time saver as it is completely automated. Cleans up after itself. ========= FEATURES: ========= * Easy to install and configure * Easy to use - simply deposit files to upload in a pre-defined subdirectory, run UPDIZ, and walk away. * Uses your existing upload file processor, thus uploaded files are checked the way you want them to be checked, and uploaded to the directory you indicate ============= INSTALLATION: ============= Simply place the UPDIZ.PPE and related files in any subdirectory, such as I:\PCB\PPE\UPDIZ Next, install UPDIZ.PPE in your CMD.LST file, with a sysop security level requirement (at least, that's a good idea). Finally, run UPDIZ and answer the one and only configuration question: Path to files to upload? Point this to an empty subdirectory that you intend to use for local uploading. Something like C:\PCB\CHECKED would do. DO NOT POINT IT TO A SUBDIRECTORY IN USE LIKE C:\PCB AS UPDIZ DELETES THE FILES IT HAS UPLOADED. POINT IT TO A SUBDIRECTORY INTENDED STRICTLY FOR USE BY UPDIZ. When specifying the path, you the trailing backslash (\) is not necessary. That's it! =========== A FEW NOTES =========== + UPDIZ only works locally. If you run it from remote, it pops up an error message and quits. It does this because it relies upon using the local upload path prompt sysops get when uploading locally. + UPDIZ can be run simulstaneously on several nodes uploading from the same directory, however, this is not advisable. It's far better to just run it from one node. + UPDIZ saves its configuration in a DBF file called UPDIZCFG.DBF. This is the path to the upload subdirectory UPDIZ asks you for the first time you run UPDIZ. If you wish to change the subdirectory, just delete the UPDIZCFG.DBF file and run UPDIZ again. Don't do this while UPDIZ is running, however! + If you have modified any of the normal PCBTEXT prompts that UPDIZ expects to encounter, UPDIZ may not function. This is only a problem if you have replaced prompts with PPEs. For UPDIZ to work, simply install the default PCBOARD PCBTEXT file as a new language, and select that language before running UPDIZ. If UPDIZ is popular enough, but has problems coping with other PPEs in its way, modifications to the code may be made in future releases.
