Kallback.PPE v1.6 - by DM Soft October 4, 1993 CAUTION *************************************************************** read > If you have registered version 1.5 or below, please inform sysop. this > Version 1.5 will allow LD users to stay online - either upgrade >>>>>> to v1.6 or set allow LD caller to N until you do. *********************************************************************** Are you tired of users having multiple accounts? Growing weray of verifying phone numbers. Other call back programs not working with PCBoard 15? This is a little PPE that I wrote to solve those problems on my BBS. NOTE: If you are upgrading from a previous version - there is a change in the configuration file. This PPE is designed to assist you in calling back users for verification. It will check to see if the user has a security of a new user and if so call the user back at a user inputed number. files: KALLBACK.PPE - call back verification PPE KALLBACK.FON - log of verified users and their phone numbers KALLBACK.CFG - Kallback configuration file ( see below ) KALLBACK.DOC - This file You will need to add a path in your command list file for the kallback.ppe. In PCBSetup, Main Menu selection B File Locations and then under file locations its selectioon B Configuration Files. You will be at a screen that looks like below. บ File Locations บ บ บ บ Command Security PPE/MNU File -or- Keystroke Replacement บ บ ออออออออออออออ ออออออออ อออออออออออออออออออออออออออออออออออออออ บ บ 1) KALLBACK 10 D:\PCB\PPE\KALLBACK.PPE บ Also you need to create an ascii file with six entries and name it kallback.cfg Jack and Jills BBS ; BBS name 10 ; registered new user level 20 ; verified level 50 ; subscription level 1 60 ; subscription level 2 Y ; drop carrier after call Y ; allow long distance kallback The first entry is obviously the BBS name. The second is the security level of a non-verified user. The third level is the level of a verified user. The fourth line is the security of your first subscription level. The fifth line is the security level of the second subscription level. If you are not using a subscription levels then place a -1 in both positions. The sixth entry indicates whether or not you want to drop carrier after verification. A "Y" will notify user and drop carrier requiring them to call back, A "N" will move back to PCBoard. The seventh entry is for allow long distance. Then either instruct the user to type kallback or add the path (instruct new users to type kallback at main prompt) add the name of the ppe in CMD list (example: !D:\pcb\ppe\kallback.ppe) to the begining of the news file or at beginning of a security file ( file named 10 for new registered but unverified user). You may now select to allow long distance verification. There is an extra safety feature so that long distance callers carrier will be dropped after verification even if the config file is set to not drop carrier. More features will be added later. Please call my BBS at 206-838-6727 for registration of this PPE. Revision 1.2 - added log entry to the callers log. Revision 1.3 - added the kallback.fon list for called numbers - added the the readuser utility for registered users to produce a fon file from the users file. Revision 1.4 - added three more lines in the config file. Added the ability to handle two level subscription access. Also added the selection to immediately drop carrier after verification. Also made some cosmetic changes. Revision 1.5 - Enabled long distance verification and ability to drop carrier after verification. You can select whether you want to allow long distance verification. Added on more entry in config file. Revision 1.6 - Improved search routine for .fon file. Added a feature to ask for password when relogging on after verification. Found a bug in LD callback that allowed user to stay on line. There was a problem with the ppe writing to the fon file even though verification didnt take place - fixed. Soon I will have an update.ppe that will allow registered users to call and obtain free updates online on my BBS. Watch for it. Duane Mattson The Doctors IN! BBS 206-838-6727 206-927-7530
