Application Center v1.0 by ViGilante [PWA] on 7/1/94 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's a little PPE I banged out in about an hour to have people apply for various things, ie. couriers, dist sites, networks, whatever. Will work from a matrix (ProMatrix comes to mind ) or as a cmd.lst entry. See the docs to your matrix for instructions on how to set it up. If you want it in your cmd.lst and need instructions then you don't need this PPE. The way I have it installed is in my CMD.LST as a replacement for the (S)cript command. Works out quite nicely. Configuration ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Look at the APPCENTR.CNF for explanations of each line in the config. The apps must be named APP.x, where x is the number of the app. These apps are STANDARD forum-type infoforms, where you use animation mode in TheDraw to place *'s where you want to get input. No need for aggravating x-y coordinate mapping. You can also run a PPE as one of the choices by putting the complete path and filename as the first line of the APP.X file, preceded by a '!' just as in PCBTEXT. When creating your own APP.x file, you will do well to 1) NOT put anything in the 80th column, 2) NOT put anything below the 21st line (so you can read it as a single screenful in a message), and 3) DON'T try to save it using PCB @ codes. You need to use animation, ergo people who use this PPE *must* have ANSI capabilities. For those who are having problems creating these STANDARD infoforms, follow these directions: 1: Load up TheDraw. 2: Create your screen, following the guidelines previously set forth. 3: At this point, animation mode should be OFF and there should be NO *'s anywhere on the screen. 4: When you are done, turn animation ON by hitting ALT-J, then T. 5: Now, place *'s at the points on the screen where you want to get input, in the order you want the questions to be asked. Whatever color the *'s are, is what color the input will be in. 6: When you are done, hit ALT-S, A, C, 77, 0, and give it a filename. It's as easy as that. The APPCENTR.PCB file can be whatever you want, just note where you want the HILIGHTED bars to appear so you can properly edit the APPCENTR.CNF file. The first question on each form should be the applicants handle/name, as this is what I used to address the message's FROM: field. Note that the last lightbar will ALWAYS be the one to QUIT. So if you only want 1 application, remember that in reality you are configuring for 2 choices. The contents of the "who to send this app to" field of the "quit" lightbar is (i hope obviously) inconsequential, albeit necessary for proper operation. Registration ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This PPE is totally free, no registration required. Donations are certainly accepted if you feel so compelled, and I won't even mention the many hours of programming/debugging/testing/whatever spent on this thing. :) Cash, old hardware, or even a good leech account on your board is always appreciated.
