FOR NEW FEATURES & COMMANDS ** Que the moron; Someone shouts out: HEY, DEFCON 4, WHAT THE HELL IS PWAFV ANYWAY? [ WHAT THE HELL IS PWA FILE VIEWER ] PWA File Viewer is a PPE replica of the good old favorite PCBFV origanlly programmed by Yandell Computer Services (fuck the copyright crap). PWAFV is the ULTIMATE PPE file viewer. þ If allows a user to select a file compressed in the ZIP, ARJ, or LZH formats (if their is a request for more compression utilities i will gladly include them in the next version) and manipulate them. þ It will also display non-archive files, such as files with the ANS, TXT, NFO, and DIZ in FULL COLOR! (@X and normal ansi) and in the future the resolution of GIF files. þ PWAFV will allow a caller to read any file that has been compressed inside the archive they are viewing. (including ansi's and @X files) þ It will allow a caller to flag individual files for download that are within the archive and/or the entire archive it self. þ Built in Seemless Interface with the FLAG.PPE þ Display files that are showed before and after viewing þ Over 40 configurable string and other options that give the Sysop full control of the system to allow the ultimate in seamless interfaces. þ Since it is a PPE, you can execute all of the normal F1-F10 Sysop commands you always can. þ Full Light bar support - No more filename prompts þ Light bar tagging capability - Tag multiple files at once and flag them together or read them one after another þ Plus much much more! Que another moron; Someone shouts out: HEY, DEFCON 4, IT SOUNDS HARDDDD TO INSTALL! [ PWAFV IS EASY TO INSTALL - HERE'S HOW ] [ INSTALLATION OF PWAFV ] Step 1 þ Unzip the version of PWAFV you have. The format for the name is PWAFV + Version number + (A)lpha or (B)eta or (R)elease. For example PWAFV12B would be PWAFV version 1.2 Beta. Ok, now that thats out of the way lets get down to business. PWAFV must be in it's OWN directory. If you use the buddy systemon your HD, PWAFV may run into problems, make sure its in it's own directory. Step 2 þ Now, go into PCBOARD SETUP and hit B then B again and hightlight CMD.LST file and hit F2. Add the Command FV , security whatever you like and path\filname C:\PPE\FV\PWAFV.PPE (or wherever you decided to keep it). Now do the same thing except with the command F V (With the spaces!). Step 3 þ Edit you PCBTEXT file and change lines #62 and #240 to read !C:\PPE\FV\PWAFV.PPE (again or wherever you put it) Step 4 þ If you are NOT using the FLAG.PPE program, then you are now finished with installation. You still need to configure it in the next section. However, if you are using the flag.ppe program and you wish for FLAG.PPE to import the filename into PWAFV continue to do step 5 Step 5 þ Edit the file FLAGFV.DAT and change the first line to the read the full path and filename of the PWAFV PPE. This should be something like C:\PPE\FV\PWAFV.PPE or where you keep it. ** NOW COPY THIS FILE AND THE INCLUDED MODIFIED VERSION OF FLAG.PPE INTO THE FLAG.PPE DIRECTORY ** If you did this wrong, one of the programs will tell you so on execution. < FLAG.PPE was written by David W. Terry and was modified by > < Defcon 4 for use in PWA File Viewer. > [ MULTI-NODE INSTALLATION OF PWAFV ] Step 1 þ In This Upgrade their is NO difference. It is all automatic!! Que another moron; Someone shouts out: HEY, DEFCON 4, WHAT DO ALL THESE LINES MEAN? [ EXPLANATION OF PWAFV.CNF ] You must now configure PWAFV by editing the PWAFV.CNF configuration file. Thier is a brief and quick explanation included in the CNF file, the following is a more detailed explanation. Line 1 þ Registration Code [000000] If unregisted set this to zeros, to register this ppe read the registration info later on in the doc Line 2 þ Follow Expert Mode according to PCBoard Flags? [ON/OFF] This switch asks weather or not you wish to follow the users Expert Mode flag in PCBoard. If set to ON the menu will not be displayed to people who have expert mode on and vice versa. If set to OFF, it will always display the menu unless otherwise changed in the PPE Line 3 þ Add pauses when viewing multi-page files? [ON/OFF/ASK] This switch will either enable or disable pausing multi-page files. In enabled multi-page files will be interupted on screen full up, otherwise they will just be fully scrolled. ASK will prompt the users with a nifty light bar to pause or not Line 4 þ Name and location of PCBoard's DLPATH File [PATH\FILENAME] This is the name and locatation if the DLPATH.LST file. If this is wrong, PWAFV will give you an error message of invalid file everytime you try to use it. The setting can be found in PCBSETUP B;B third choose up from the bottom. Line 5 þ Location of PKUNZIP and PKZIP (or in path) [DIRECTORY/BLANK] If PKZIP and PKUNZIP are not in your PATH statement you must then set the proper setting here. If they are in your path you can leave this blank. If you fill it in and it is wrong, you will screw up and it will not work Line 6 þ Location to store users compiled zip file [DIRECTORY] This is the directory that the zip file is stored in after it is rezipped. ** THIS DIRECTORY MUST BE IN YOUR DLPATH.LST FILE OR ELSE IT WILL NOT GET FLAGGED ** Line 7 þ Name and extension of user compiled zip file [NAME.ZIP] The name of the user selected zip files. Must include a .ZIP extensio ie TSTFLAG.ZIP Line 8 þ Location of work directory [DIRECTORY] A Directory which will store the selected files before they are repackaged. This directory MUST be empty because it will be erased after each usage. ** DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CREATE THIS DIRECTORY IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY MAINTAINED BY THE PPE *** The PPE uses a suplied copy of DELTREE to maintain the directory. If you do not wish to use deltree, edit the BAT file, and supply your own. I also use MD (make directory) and i am assuming that everybody uses that. OS/2 Users may be fucked, never used OS/2 usage. Line 9 þ string displayed when an invalid Zip file is entered [TEXT STRING] Line 10 þ string displayed when an invalid filename is entered[TEXT STRING] Line 11 þ string displayed when no help file exists DUH! This line is simply the path and filename of the PPE. This MUST be configured for EACH node you have running Que another idiot; Someone shouts: YO D4, WHAT ARE ALL THESE OTHER FILES FOR?? [ FILES INCLUDED WITH PWAFV ] DISPLAY.DAT þ DAT File which contains names of files that you want displayed as ANSI files. This should be a list of extensions only and is on a full match algorith. This means that if the user is trying to view a file with the extention on this list it will treat the file as a non- compressed ASCII file and just display it. EXCLUDE.DAT þ DAT File which contains names of files that cannont be viewed. This should also be a list of extensions only. PWAFV has the tendancy to freeze when reading 0 byte files, to correct this add the extension into this files and activity will be restricted. PWAFV.HLP þ Help file displayed when a user selects help from within the PPE. PWAFV.PCB þ External Menu file - Self explanitory - If it does not exist it will default to the fast internal one. PWAFV.HIS þ PWAFV History file - Contains upgrade information * All the other files are either non-important of Self explanitory * Que another idiot; Someone shouts: HEY, DEFCON 4, DO I NEED TO REGISTER THIS THING? [ HOW TO REGISTER ] Due to the release of PPLD many peolpe have decided to make cracks that remove the registration info. These cracks DO work (i've test most of them myself) however I cannot take responsiblity to how the PPE preforms with the crack installed. Also, I will not answer any of your question or complaints if you are not on my registered list. Registration is free and enables no new options, the call costs, at most, $2.00 (this is from sweden never less), so spend the two bux and get a real reg. number. There is no charge for registration, but donations are accepted. Please bare in mind, it took a long time to program this and I plan to support it and keep it updated. A 5 - 10 dollar donation to the board would tell me that it was worth my time, but the donation is not nessacry to remove that NASTY delay. To register this ppe, call The Soul Temple at 201-768-0536 and choose REGISTER PWAFV of the main menu. Thanx for registering! Que the moron; Someone shouts: HEY, DEFCON 4, WHAT IF IT KILLS MY PUTER? [ DISCLAIMER ] This program has been beta tested at numerouse sites without any malfunctions or problems.
