Introduction | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Enhanced Message Edit Commands (EMEC) is a PPE which replaces your message edit prompt: (S) (A) (U) etc. This PPE is an attractive looking, lightbar, and hotkey driven replacement. This was written in PPL 3.0 and for use only with PCBoard 15.2+. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 2. Installation | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Simply run INSTALL.BAT for an automated installation. For the manual method, edit your PCBTEXT and have prompt 163 point to this ppe. Ie: !C:\PCB\PPE\EMEC\EMEC.PPE Also, prompts 164, 222, and 629 will need to be blank/empty. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 3. Configuration | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Edit EMEC.CFG to change the two options available inside. Edit LB.CFG for text and colours associated with the lightbars. Edit STRINGS.CFG for all text strings and prompts which get printed. Each file is rather small and could have been put in one big file, but it is more organized in this manner. Edit EMEC.PCB for the header that is displayed before the main command prompt is printed. The PPE will still function without any of these files, as then it will use the built-in defaults. However, it most likely clash with your board's colour scheme. :) +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 4. Last Words | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ If you wish to have the source, simply ask me for it. The PPE itself is about as configurable as you can make it, so I do not anticipate many requests. Otherwise, if you need to reach me for some reason, you can send internet email to "drew@xinet.com", or leave me a message on Attitude Net, or call my board: The Silicon Phalanx at 310-575-8567 and apply for access.
