Last Words +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 1. Introduction | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ See HISTORY.DOC for all changes. This is a PPE replacement for your CNFN file. Features: o Automatic print out of only the conferences a user has access to. o Ignores/skips any "blank" conferences. o You do not need to enter in the names of your conferences so there is no heinous 1000+ line config file. Written in PPL 3.0 for PCBoard 15.2+ only. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 2. Packaging | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Your zip file should contain the following files: JOIN.PPE The PPE itself. JOIN.PPS Source code to the PPE. JOIN.CFG Config file. JOIN.DOC Documentation (you are reading it now) JOIN.TOP Header file JOIN.BOT Footer file HISTORY.DOC History/Revision file. OTHERDJP.DOC Other stuff I've written. FILE_ID.DIZ File (zip) description. PWA.NFO PWA info file. TSP.NFO My bbs ad. If any of these files are missing, be warned that you may have a copy that has been tampered with. If you have any extra files, they are extraneous and unnecessary. Typically, my bbs ad may not be there, which is not a problem. However, the idiots who contribute this to the fidonet backbone (usually originating from the Clipper Workshop BBS) edit the FILE_ID.DIZ, remove PWA.NFO and OTHERDJP.DOC, and insert their own bbs ad which is bigger than most ppe's. Just be aware, since who knows what other stupidities they may pull. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 3. Installation | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Install this inside of your CNFN file. So just edit the file, and put something like !C:\PCB\PPE\JOIN\JOIN.PPE on a line by itself. (needless to say, you probably don't want anything else in the file ) +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 4. Misc Notes | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ JOIN.TOP is the header file. JOIN.BOT is the footer file. JOIN.CFG uses replacement codes. See details within the file itself. (Don't worry, it's only 4 lines long. :) ) Since this PPE has to create the list of available conferences for the online user "on the fly", In version 1.5 we added Lightbar capabilities to this list, making it easier for users to select the conference they want. Source is included, so feel free to modify to your heart's content in order to satisfy your needs. I am not asking for money (although receiving money would be nice), so the least you can do is have a conscience and not redistribute modified versions of this source. I include source so that other programmers can learn from the mess I make and get other (new) ideas as to how to do something. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 5. Last Words | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ The original idea for this joyous PPE was from Raw Liquid. :) Otherwise, if you need to reach me for some reason, you can send internet email to "drew@xinet.com", or leave me a message on Attitude Net, or call my board: The Silicon Phalanx at 310-575-8567 and apply for access. Peace, --Drew If you want to get in touch with ME [Nemesis], you can send internet email to "erich@clemson.edu", or leave a message in PPEnet, iNFiNET, or call my board: New World Order at 803-855-8085 and apply (hmm this sounds familiar) Later, \!emesis
