PipeConv v1.0beta (C)1994 The Calculus Group Coded by: Night Crawler What does it do? Why... It converts those nasty | (pipe) codes to PCBoard's own @X codes. This can be a mighty handy feature for those of you who are on nets where people just INSIST on using them.. (Hey.. They do look cool..) Anyways, in the next release, I will probably also make a nice @X to pipe convertor for your OUTBOUND mail, so those other sysops won't get pissed at YOU for using @X codes.. Heh.. Anyways, the introduction: Alright.. Tired of PIPE2PCB? Lemme guees, it doesn't work on your PCBoard, eh? Well, finally theres an alternative! PipeConv v1.0beta! Theres one thing I always do when I write software, and that is, BETA TEST the hell out of it. This program has been beta-tested extensively by me and a few friends that run PCBoard. Right now, it only works with ZIP files, but I will add support for ARJ and LZH and ARC very soon. I just chose ZIP becuase it's probably the most widely-used right now. This support will be added in the final release. Theres no registration fee or you have to call my bbs and get a code (even though its free).. That shit is lame, and I know people won't use it if you have to do that, so I didn't. This is a completely functionally version (well..:) ). I just ask ONE thing.. If you find ANY bugs, PLEASE let me know VIA anyone in Calculus, my board, or my VMB (805.645.5489). I want to make this program work for any copy of any frontdoor and any version of PCBoard. By the way, you can probably use this with any frontdoor, just make sure you run this program before it tosses your mail. Alright, you wanna get this thing working NOW. Ok.. For this release, you only need PKZIP and PKUNZIP in your path (this is NECESSARY).. It'll end up probably ERASING your packs if it doesn't exist (sorry..). I'll make sure that it'll be a bit more safe next time. But this one WILL work if it's in your path. Now.. The config file.. What we need is a INBOUND directory and a work directory. If you're using Qfront, your inbound will probably be C:\QFRONT\INBOUND\ (note.. You NEED the trailing backslash). Your work directory can be C:\QFRONT\WORK\ or even a RAM drive.. Just something where the directory will be clean, cause it trashes the files in this dir. :) Line 1 is the inbound dir, and Line 2 is the work directory. Now, simple.. Just run PIPECONV [config file] and it will work. You can specify the filename or a complete path to the config file. It will find it either way.
