PCSNOISE PPE v1.20 Copyright (c) 1997 by Practical Computer Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Are you constantly having to do maintenance on your BBS, and don't have the time to explain to your users why their are being logged off before you actually drop carrier on them? If so, PCSNoise will display 4 random lines of what will appear to be line noise on the users side. After that, it will drop carrier on the user. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Installation: ------------- Installation is very simple. The best way to install PCSNoise is through one of your SysOp defineable SHIFT-F key combinations. Here are step-by-step instructions on installing PCSNoise into on of your SHIFT-F key combinations: Step #1: Load up PCBSetup for the node you wish to install PCSNoise on. Step #2: Cursor down to "Configuration Options" and hit enter. Step #3: Cursor down to "Function Keys" and hit enter. Step #4: Cursor down to the function key you want to install PCSNoise into. (I'm using SHIFT-F8 on my system) Step #5: Type the following text into your F-key definition field: !C:\PCB\PPE\PCSNOISE\PCSNOISE.PPE NOTE: You can place PCSNOISE.PPE in any directory that you wish. We are using the C:\PCB\PPE\PCSNOISE\ directory in this example. Step #6: Exit PCBSetup and make sure you save your setup. Step #7: Repeat steps 1-6 for each node you want to setup with PCSNoise capability. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Support: --------- This is a FREEWARE PPE.
