This ppe is a replacement for the PASSED / VERIFYING @OPTEXT@ prompt in your pcbtext. What this ppe does is that it takes the file uploaded (arj/zip format only), and adds inside a file with a ranfom filename (or not, as you choose), that contains a bbs add, the file diz and information about the uploader and uploading time and such. The ppe tries to avoid bbs adds from being deleted by changing the add's filename, and aswell the data the file contains constantly changes which means the file's crc changes. These things gives the file a better chance to survive and for your bbs a better chance of publicity =]. þ Files within the zip : VERIFY.PPE - The ppe itself ofcourse. VERIFY.CFG - Config file for the ppe, look inside! FILES-TO.ADD - This file contains the filenames of the files to be used as ³ headers/bbs adds in the random filename. Please EDIT this file. ³ you may insert up to 999 adds and the ppe will choose one ³ of them randomaly each time a user uploads. All you have to do ³ is put the filename (including PATH!), one filename per line. ³ ÀÄ> The files you write inside that file are the header files for the random adds, put [EOF] at the end of EACH header file orelse the ppe will get stuck! ADD.NO1 - An example of a header file. ADD.NO2 - An example of a header file. VERIFY.DOC - This ugly doc. LINE. - The line that will be added to the random file, DO NOT center the ³ line, it will be automaticly centered if you put the center option ³ on in the config. ³ þ Macro's that you can use in the file LINE : %FILEU% - Filename In Upper Case [FILENAME.EXT] %FILEL% - Filename In Lower Case [filename.ext] %FILEM% - Filename In Mixed Case [Filename.Ext] %NAMEU% - Name In Upper Case [MAIN STREAM] %NAMEL% - Name In Lower Case [main stream] %NAMEM% - Name In Mixed Case [Main Stream] %ULBY% - User's ULBY String [@X Colors Are Stripped] %DAYU% - Day In Upper Case [SUNDAY] %DAYL% - Day In Lower Case [sunday] %DAYM% - Day In Mixed Case [Sunday] %DAYNL% - Day Number In Upper Case [11TH] %DAYNU% - Day Number In Lower Case [11th] %MONTHU% - Month In Upper Case [JANUARY] %MONTHL% - Month In Lower Case [january] %MONTHM% - Month In Mixed Case [January] %DATE% - The Current Date [01/01/96] %TIME% - The Current Time [12:00] %NODE% - The Upload Node Installation / Configuration : þ The Ppe : Create paths NODE1, NODE2... As the number of nodes you have inside the ppe path. Example : If the ppe is located at C:\VERIFY then u MUST create directories called NODE1, NODE2 and so on up to your number of nodes. If you have 3 nodes and the ppe is located at C:\VERIFY then u MUST create 3 directories : C:\VERIFY\NODE1 C:\VERIFY\NODE2 C:\VERIFY\NODE3 þ Edit the VERIFY.CFG and change there everything you need. þ PCBTEXT : In prompt #575 put !DRIVE:\PATH\VERIFY.PPE V <ÄÂ DO NOT Forget In prompt #576 put !DRIVE:\PATH\VERIFY.PPE À The V Now, because prompt #575 is limited to only 25 chars it is recogmended that you put the verifier as close as you can to th root directory, not in C:\PCB\PPE\GNX\VERIFY\VERIFY.PPE, that will NOT fit inside the line and dont forget that in prompt 575 you also need to add a V after the ppe name. So, please put the ppe as close to the root as possible. þ The Ascii Files In line 2 in the config file [VERIFY.CFG] you put a filename in which you will write the names of the ascii files to add. Unlike the previous ver, this ver can choose an ascii out of several ascii's [up to 1000 ascii's]. In order to use this option, edit the config file on line 2 and put there the filename that will contain the names of the ascii files to add. For example, in line 2 you write C:\VERIFY\FILES-TO.ADD edit this file and inside write the names of the ascii files, one at each line (including PATH!). Example of a file like that : C:\VERIFY\ADD.NO1 C:\VERIFY\ADD.NO2 C:\VERIFY\ADD.NO3 Now, the ppe will choose from those files ONE file and will use it as header for the random filename. In this file you can put up to 1000 files for the ppe to use. DONT FORGET to put [EOF] at the end of every add file. þ If You Wanna Use %ULBY% : Inorder to use the ULBY option in the ppe, you must do two things : 1. Edit VERIFY.CFG and in line 3 change from NORMAL to the path and name of your ULBY.DAT file. Example for line 3 : C:\PCB\PPE\ULBY\ULBY.DAT 2. In the file LINE add somewhere [where ever you want] the macro %ULBY% (probably instead of %NAMEM%) þ Bug reports / comments can be sent to me by email - stream@cris.com or join #GNX in EFNET and talk to me.
