Newform/AcroTest v1.0 by Drake [GNX] - Introduction - There are TWO major parts of this PPE, you CAN use one without the other. (1) The First Part is a Infoform that will ask for the new users required info, like Password, Phone Number, Affils, etc. It uses a full screen form, and does NOT stuff the keyboard, this installs into your PCBTEXT for a CLEAN and seemless appearance, a DEFINATE install! (2) The Random AcroTest. This is an awesome function that will ask the new user to define acronyms that are randomly choosen from your list! Each acronym can be given a POINT VALUE, so that if they know the hard ones, they will pass easier than if they just know the simple ones, this is explained in detail further on, but it fucking ROCKS and you should DEFINATELY use it. - Installation/Explanation for Part (1) - Well you can run the INSTALL.BAT for a quick installation, but I suggest you do this manually so you can be sure you arent messing up anything else currently in your PCBTEXT. Edit your PCBTEXT file with MKPCBTXT or whatever, and replace the following entries with the following text: Entry #2 "!:\\NF.PPE 2_" example "D:\BBS\PPL\NF.PPE 2_" Entry #111 "!:\\NF.PPE 111_" example "D:\BBS\PPL\NF.PPE 111_" Entry #113 "!:\\NF.PPE 113_" example "D:\BBS\PPL\NF.PPE 113_" Entry #114 "!:\\NF.PPE 114_" example "D:\BBS\PPL\NF.PPE 114_" Entry #152 "!:\\NF.PPE 152_" example "D:\BBS\PPL\NF.PPE 152_" Entry #265 "!:\\NF.PPE 265_" example "D:\BBS\PPL\NF.PPE 265_" Entry #556 "!:\\NF.PPE 556_" example "D:\BBS\PPL\NF.PPE 556_" Now just make any cosmetic changes to the FORM.PCB and you are set to go, try it out to be sure its setup correctly. Make sure you have the "_" after each entry so that the question marks and ()'s dont show up in the infoform. - Installation/Explanation for Part (2) - This part kicks some major ass. Ok, in the file DEFINE.LST there is a list of acronyms, their meaning, and a point value. When you use the AcroTest, random acronyms from your DEFINE.LST will be choosen for the user to define. You define how many points a user must get right to PASS and how many points to FAIL (upon failing, they are disconnected). Each correct answer will increase the user's score by the value listed in DEFINE.LST, and each incorrect answer will decrease the user's score by *3*. So that means, your average point value in DEFINE.LST should be set to 3, while really easy definitions should be less than 3, and difficult definitions should be higher than 3. Try it out with the default values, you will agree this is fucking cool. To install it, put the following line somewhere in your NEW USER logon script. I use mine in the NEWASK file (defined in PcbSetup). "!:\\NF.PPE 666" The 666 tells the PPE that you want to run the AcroTest, rather than the other new user features. Thats it, try the defaults and see how you like it, otherwise edit NF.CFG and DEFINE.LST to your liking. Hope you enjoy this, I have a many more ideas to put in this, so stay tuned for new versions. - Last Words - Basically there are two main parts to this PPE, the Infoform and the AcroTest. I plan to add some other fucking cool features to this in the very near future, but wanted to release this since I obviously think it rocks! Anyways, if you want something in this PPE made configurable, or you have an idea for a new PPE, then contact me on my board Nuclear Insemination, or a few of the other quality boards that I frequent. - GREETZ! - Crimson Tide [GNX] - Frog Snatcher [YMCA] - Phrozen Ghost [PNT] - TpR [CPC] Master Of Puppets [PTM] - Beak [MTR] - Crakkmaster [FSN] - Epidemic [FATE] Gecko [WKD] - Warmaster [PNT] - Panic [FATE] - And anyone I overlooked!
