Yeah rite this is archive viewer PPE. It supports ZIP, ARJ and virtually ANY compressing program. It allows you and your users to view and test archives, read files, download separate files from archive, etc. Unlike other viewers (i.e. PWA FileView), DODView doesn't use PCBoard ZIP viewer (VIEWZIP.EXE). The main reason for this is unstablity of VIEWZIP. It often crashes during viewing ZIPs with damaged directory. ,-----------------------------------------------------------------------------. | SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS | `-----------------------------------------------------------------------------' You need PCBoard 15.2+ to run DODView. At least 488 computer with hardware (or software) cache is highly recommended. I've tested DODView under Win'95 and QEMM and it works fine. DODView seems to run OK under OS/2 (I didn't tested coz I hate OS/2).. ,-----------------------------------------------------------------------------. | INSTALLATION | `-----------------------------------------------------------------------------' 0. Don't forget to install DODView in CMD.LST as a replacement for "F V" command. 1. If you don't using any PPEs like FLAG.PPE, change PCBTEXT entry #242 to !\DODVIEW.PPE, then copy included PCBVIEW.BAT to your PCBoard root (home) directory. 2. (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) Use included version of old good FLAG.PPE that will execute DODView without those tricks with PCBVIEW.BAT. Finally, edit DODVIEW.CFG. You'll find all necessary info inside config file. ,-----------------------------------------------------------------------------. | COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS | `-----------------------------------------------------------------------------' The only (optional) command line parameter is the archive name, i.e. DODVIEW.PPE C:\SLIME.ZIP or DODVIEW.PPE SCUM.ZIP (in this case SCUM.ZIP must be available via conference's DLPATH.LST). ,-----------------------------------------------------------------------------. | NOTES | `-----------------------------------------------------------------------------' READ FILES COMMAND: Notice that wildcard reading available only on ZIP archives. During reading the file you can use PGUP, PGDN, HOME and END to scroll the text. To quit reading press ESC or ENTER at EOF. (NOTE: Firstly I decided to implement the fullscreen file lister with litebar. But then I realized how redrawing of the whole screen is boring. Yeah it may be useful but only sometimes. So there is no fullscreen file selector =) FLAG FILES COMMAND: You can flag files from different archives (using Flag Files then View Another Archive then Flag Files...). DOWNLOAD FILAGGED FILE: If file transfer has been fucked up, execute DOWNLOAD FLAGGED FILES again to resume download. ,-----------------------------------------------------------------------------. | BORING STUFF... | `-----------------------------------------------------------------------------' This PPE is Free because I don't producing the $10 PPEs consisting only of six lines of code. It may not be used on some shitty shareware cd or the such. Any my PPEs released are 100% backdoor free. If you find one in your version, it WASN'T in the original source. - Lars Ulrich [DRiNK OR DiE]
