I must be getting bored or something . Version 1.0 used the KBDSTUFF command to page the Sysop. The change I made to qualify the version upgrade to v1.11 was simply to create a PPE for paging the Sysop that can be used both with the PCBMON v1.11 THE PUB, or seperatly on it's own. Now it's time to sleep........ZZZZZZzzzzzz 12-11-95 Added the SCANNING USER NODES to the screen, and updated the location field with a better, more reliable way of gathering this information. So hence the revision to v1.12 12-12-95 Designed a user to user page utility that not only works well on it's own. 12-17-95 Finally, I did it. It took about three hours of looking for the bug from hell, but I did it..., actually, this PPE is a great feature which allows the User to have access to upwards of 20 additional commands that can launch PPE's or Display additional files. 12-17-95 Completed the UEDIT v1.00 feature, which adds the ability for a Sysop to edit a users record. I also added real-time time and date display from THE PUB and from the UEDIT screen. I finally added another Sysop feature, which allows the Sysop to launch any PPE from PCBMON v.1.5 THE PUB 12-18-95 Created an additional PPE to allow som of the built in PCBOARD EXE's to be available without the need to drop to DOS. Some of these EXE's are; PCBSetup, PCBFiler, PCBSM, FIDOUTIL, edit PCBTEXT, and more. 12-20-95 I created amore useful, and powerful PPE launcher. This will allow the Sysop to edit, add, remove, and launch up to ten different PPE's from this utility. Great for those PPL developers. I also redesigned the Sysop Ext. Menu. It now uses Lite-Bar technology. This makes it alot easier to navigate. 12-21-95 Fixed a few color bugs, Also redesigned THE PUB so it would display your BBS name top center, and the registration/license number, and revision/maxnodes to the bottom. ____________________________________________________________________ :::REGISTRATION::: To register this application, please send $25.00 US BUCKS, money order or check to the Net Equinox Gateway office, at: RICHARD P. SRERY 3312 HIGHWAY 50 EAST SPACE #18 CARSON CITY, NEVADA 89701 once your registration is received, then you can log on our sole distributor ALTERED EGO BBS @ (702) 888-9683 and receive your registration number. Be sure and type REGISTER to join the on-line Net Equinox Gateway. ____________________________________________________________________ :::INSTALLATION::: This application is a fairly simplistic one to set up. The first step is to create a directory off of the \PCB\ called PCBMON. So the directory would appear like this: \PCB\PCBMON\ . Okay, now that you have completed this step. Simply copy the file called PCBMON12.ZIP into this new directory, and UNZIP it. After you have UNZIPPED the file, then you will first want to edit the file named PCBMON. There is no file extension on this file, and it should remain this way in order for the application to run properly. Editing this file is really easy. first using you favorite ASCII editor open the file, then on the first line replace the information with your REGISTRATION/LICENSE number. If you do not have a REGISTRATION/LICENSE NO., then leave this line alone. If you attempt to change this number, and it is not the number provided by Net Equinox Gateway, then the program will simply FAIL to operate..... The second should be replaced with the NAME OF YOUR BBS. The Third line is the security level you have set up within PCBOARD to allow a drop to dos session. The fourth line is the actual number of licensed nodes you have purchased from either PCBOAD, or a recognized distributor. The remaining lines should be the path statements for the locations of the individual node directories. It is important that you list 25 node directories here. This DOES NOT mean that you have to create 25 node directories, however you will need to make sure, that if you have a 5 node license, that you have at least 5 node directories set up properly. Even if you only have one or two lines running. After that, it will then be necessary to edit the CMD.LST from your main menu/ conf. and add a selection to execute the PCBMON.PPE. The only other area of set up is the INIT.PPE file. This can be set up in many different ways. On my system I have opened up all of my menus, and have added the line !D:\PCB\PCBMON\INIT.PPE To the top of the menu. Now there is one small piece of information left, and that is at the end of the command line for the INIT.PPE, it will be necessary to type a ten digit location name. The following is an example of what this would look like if you placed the INIT.PPE command in the main menu screen: !D:\PCB\PCBMON\INIT.PPE MAIN MENU @X17------------------------------------------------------------@X07 @X17Ý @X1MENU MENU@X17 Ý@X07 As you can see I placed the location name after the .PPE with a preceeding space. This will allow PCBMON.PPE to let the users view the locations of themselves as well as others. I would recommend that you do this in all of your menus, and simply adjust the ten digit location name respectfully. The other place you can put this INIT.PPE would be in the PCBTEXT file, as a replacement for whichever one you desired. That is it. You are now ready to run ths PCBMON.PPE. END OF FILE
