TIC2DIR v1.0 by Earl Bonser Freeware! Feel free to distribute any way you want! This simple little utility will create a PCBoard DIR list file containing a list of all of the files that you receive from a FIDO FDN site. It uses the .TIC files that accompany each file to obtain a file description for each file and extracts the file date and size for the DIR list directly from the information in the directory where the files reside. Installation is extremly complex. Just place the TIC2DIR.EXE file included in this archive in any directory in your PATH list. That's it, it's installed! To run the utility, simply switch to the directory that you receive the FDN files into and enter TIC2DIR. The utility will create a file named PCBDIR in the current directory and display it as it is being created. NOTE: IF THERE IS ALREADY A FILE NAMED PCBDIR IN THE CURRENT DIRECTORY IT WILL BE OVERWRITTEN!! Also be sure that you receive both the archive and .TIC files from the FDN into the same directory. TIC2DIR expects to find both the .TIC and archive files in the current directory when you run it. The PCBDIR file that is generated is in the standard PCBoard DIR list format. You can use it to generate a FILE_ID.DIZ entry for each of the archive files with a utility like APP-DIZ, import the list directly into one of your existing PCBoard DIR list files, or do anything else you wish with the listing.
