PLEASE READ SHARE.DOC BEFORE OPERATING THIS SHAREWARE COPY ISOQ PPE'S PRESENTS: THE PULL DOWN MENU SYSTEM This documentation file is only valid for version 3.3+ executables and may or may not be valid for future releases. We guarentee that if the software was obtained from us that there are NO back doors in it and it will not cause harm to your other programs due to our programming. We cannot be help responsible for any damage the product does to you due to bugs or other errors in pcboard and this ppe's execution. First file we must deal with is the PULL.MNU file: This file gives you the ability to control the names of the pull down menu files to be similar to the names you gave each menu on the screen (i.e. for a file menu you might call the control file "FILE"). It also gives you the ability to directly support rip without using a ripscript drawing program. If you decide to use my rip your users will be required to have a RIP TERMINAL PROGRAM when they dial in. Even with rip installed the PULL DOWN menu system will only send rip codes if it detects that the caller has rip enabled. The first line contains: 1) YES if you are using our rip interface for your bbs. If you decide to use rip on your system the rest of the file will look like this: LINE 2:FILENAME LINE 3:X coordinate to start rip button LINE 4:Y coordinate to start rip button LINE 5:X coordinate to end rip button LINE 6:Y coordinate to end rip button LINE 7: redo line 2 - 6 for each menu you wish to have online up to 8 menus are supported 2) NO if you are not using our rip interface for your bbs. If you decide not to use rip on your system the rest of the file will look like this: LINE 2:FILENAME of menu one LINE 3:FILENAME of menu two LINE 4-9: consecutive menu name until you are done with your menus **** Only put in the amount of names (and or coordinates) for the files you wish the menu to use. Unnecesary names may (will) cause the program to function improperly **** The next file we must deal with is the MAIN file which handles the top part of our menus and certain other information required by this PPE to run: MAIN: this file is the top screen containing the following information line 1: No longer used just left in for compatiblity line 2: The color to flag the command with when it is picked line 3: No longer needed just left in for compatiblity line 4: How many lines long the top part of the menu will be line 5: The command for the PPE to stuff into the keyboard when he wants to quit the PPE. (i.e. "LANG 1" to change languages) line 6 till you finish the top of your menu: the actual top part of the menu. If you want to print text to the bottom of the screen to instruct a user on information: Leave a blank line after the end of your menu and type all information in the file there. This text will be displayed from line 21 and down so make sure it doesn't go off the users screen. If you wish to execute a ppe to print special information that changes from user to user leave a blank line after the text or if there is no text leave two blank lines and then enter in the path and ppe name to call (i.e. c:\new\pull.ppe). This will execute the ppe which will have to use ansi positioning on its own. Any text printed on line 20 and above will be deleted. Next file(s) to be disccuesd will be the main menu files as listed in the PULL.MNU file: (i.e FILE) line one: starting x coordinate where menu will be drawn from. line two: ending x coordinate (needed for old version just not changed) line three: y coordinate (lines down from top) to start drawing the menu. line four: Color to flag the whole menu bar in when a choice is selected (i.e. @X70) line five: top line of the menu (top bar or anything else you want) line six till a blank line: the actual text with color that should be displayed to the user (side bars and everything). line after blank line: bottom bar of menu (can be left blank for nothing). Next file is the .KEY file which contains the hotkeys a user may enter to execute a command: line one: single letter command to execute the first menu choice in the program (i.e for zippy search Z). line two and on: same as above for next command Next file is the .TYP file which tells the ppe whether the command to execute is a PPE an INTERNAL PCBOARD COMMAND, or a SECONDARY MENU: CMD = a pcboard internal command SEC = secondary menu INT = internal pcboard command (also .mnu internal command) STR = execute a command either internet to pcboard or via the cmd.lst file list (in pcbsetup) Line one: command type for the first menu choice line two: command type for the second menu choice line three and on: see above Next file is the .CMD file which tells the ppe the pcboard command to execute, the ppe to call (full pathname required), or the file name of the secondary menu (which is assumed to be in the same drive and path as the PPE file itself). Line one: Command to execute or PPE to call or SECONDARY menu menu file name line two and on: see above valid entrees are: CMD = "L" or "Z" or "TS" PPE = "C:\new\pull.ppe" SEC = "MES2" (valid file name required).
