So, What is this Bulletin Menu Generator Program? ------------------------------------------------- The ÿBulletin Menu Generator creates the BLT and optionally the BLTg menu for PCB versions earlier than 14.5 with the actual date/timestamp of the BLTxx files contained in the menu. ÿIf run during ÿthe system's event, ÿit saves the SysOp the hassle of ÿupdating the ÿmenu each and every time a bulletin is changed. ÿIt also ÿsupports the ÿPCBoard ÿ(R) macros @SYSTIME@ and @SYSDATE@ ÿallowing ÿselected bulletins to display the current time/date in the menu. INSTALLATION ------------ Provided ÿin ÿthe BLTMNU15.ZIP file is BLTCNF.EXE which creates ÿthe config file. ÿIt is not necessary to use this program, but is provided to ÿmake initial installation a bit simpler. ÿOnce BLTMNU is installed, you ÿmay use your favorite text editor to modify the file. ÿÿMAKE ÿSURE your text editor does not append blank lines or extra characters to the file! If so, your bulletin descriptions will not be correct! I ÿsuggest a pure ascii editor such as QEDIT from SemWare. ÿPlease note that QEDIT is ÿalso ÿa shareware product and requires registration ÿfor ÿcontinued use. 1. Full path and filename of your BLT.LST file. 2. Full path and filename of your BLT file (the G is added automatically to the graphic version for earlier than PCB 14.5) 3. BBS Name to appear in header 4. This line must contain a Y if running PCB 14.5, blank otherwise 5. Bulletins to use the @SYSDATE@ macro (separated by spaces)-0 if none. 6. Bulletins to use the @SYSTIME@ macro (separated by spaces). 0 if none. 7. TITLEforeground background \ 8. HEADERforeground background \ 9. BLT#foreground background : these MUST be separated by spaces 10. DATEforeground background / ONLY! Commas or other separators will 11. TIMEforeground background / disrupt program operation! 12. Run BLTMNU in your system's event as follows: BLTMNU CONFIG_FILE [/BIOS] [/NOREG] CONFIG_FILE is the name of the configuration file you have created ÿfor BLTMNU ÿto use. ÿBLTMNU will not run without ÿthis ÿcommand line parameter. Optional parameters: /BIOS ÿ- causes BLTMNU to use only bios calls for screen output. ÿÿUse this ÿswitch if bleed-through becomes a problem ÿwith ÿmulti- taskers. /NOREG - causes BLTMNU not to display the 'Registered to:' ÿline in the BLT(g) ÿÿfiles. ÿÿThis switch has no ÿeffect ÿin ÿunregistered copies. OTHER FEATURES -------------- BLTMNU fully supports PCBoard 14.5 color macros. Optionally, ÿÿif you wish to design your own header and have ÿBLTMNU update ÿonly ÿthe bulletins, ÿyou may use BLTMNU's header ÿoption. ÿÿIf BLTMNU finds a file called BLTMNU(g).HDR in the run-time directory, ÿit will ÿuse ÿthis file as the header information. ÿÿSample ÿheader ÿfiles should be included in the BLTMNU15.ZIP file. REGISTRATION: ------------- The use of BLTMNU past a thirty (30) ÿday evaluation period requires registration. ÿÿIf you like BLTMNU and decide to continue to use it ÿon your system, ÿplease fill out the registration form (REGISTER.TXT) ÿand send with a check for $10 to: Charles Baldridge 3550 Pimlico Pky Apartment #288 Lexington, KY 40517 Please make checks payable to Charles Baldridge. ***************************** IMPORTANT ******************************* ***************************** IMPORTANT ******************************* ***************************** IMPORTANT ******************************* The above address is a temporary address!
