****************************************************** STICKYTHINGS 2.0 (c) 1995 by Tom Hollander tholland@pcug.org.au ****************************************************** What is Stickythings? --------------------- Stickythings is a program that lets you put "sticky" notes on your desktop so you can quickly jot down notes, ideas, phone numbers, whatever. You can give your notes their own special look, and they will stay there every time you start up Stickythings. Installation ------------ Firstly, run the Setup program to install the required program files into the correct directories. * * * * * * * * You must have the Visual Basic 4.0 runtime libraries (not included here to save on download time) in your \Windows\System folder to run Stick-It. You can get the files at http://www.inpros.com/Hollander/vb4run.zip - unzip the files in your System folder and you're away! * * * * * * * * Using Stickythings ------------------ When you first start Stickythings, you will see a tiny window with two options: New Note and About. Click New Note every time you want to create a new note. About will display copyright and shareware info. Once you have created your note, enter your text with the keyboard. You don't have to save the note, it will stay there until you close it (even if you quit Stickythings). To change your note's properties, click on the appropriate button in the little button bar. This menu lets you change the note's Font, Size, Style, Colour, and whether it stays on top of all other windows or not. If your Windows display setup is less than HighColour (16-bit) colour, you should only choose pure (undithered) colours or the notes may look pretty ugly. I recommend you find out whether your video card supports HighColour and if so get a driver for it. I just did this, and it makes lots of programs look MUCH nicer! To quit Stick-It, click the close box on the main Stick-It window. Remember, only close the individual note windows if you want to kill those notes. Shareware Info -------------- This program is shareware, which means it costs one tenth as much as normal commercial software, it will hardly kill you to register it.
