======================== Rescue 95 v.4 ======================== Don't spend hours reinstalling Windows 95 when Rescue 95 can restore it in less than 2 minutes. If for some reason, the Registry of Windows 95 gets corrupted, run Rescue 95 to fix the problem. If you can not get into Windows 95, there is a DOS version of Rescue 95 that will do the repairing from outside of Windows 95. As an added precaution you can use Rescue 95 to periodically make up to ten different backups of the Registry. Overview ======== 1. Rescue 95 restores the Registry to three configurations: the previously loaded configuration, any of ten saved configurations (this is of course if you have used Rescue 95 to save backups), and the original configuration (Windows 95 will start out by putting all the executable files in the startup menu, asking for the user name and password, validating your time zone, etc). 2. Rescue 95 makes up to ten special backup copies of Windows 95, just in case normal backup procedures fail. It also backs up Windows Initiation Files, Bootup Files, and Start Menu structure. 3. Rescue 95 can prompt you regularly (monthly, weekly, daily) to make backups. This option is found in the Prompt Menu. 4. Rescue 95 installs an emergency MS DOS program in the C directory just in case Windows will not install. Run "rescue.exe" from the C directory DOS prompt or from the original diskette. Rescue 95 Setup ================== To setup, run "setup.exe". This will install all neccessary files and put five program icons (rescue95, Help, Install/Uninstall, Emergency Rescue, and Read Me) in a program group window.
