Introduction ============ Alarm! is a Windows95 program that behaves like your house alarm clock, and more. It has some very useful features that include: - letting you set the frequency of the alarm: one-time, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. - each alarm can have a message that will appear during alarm time - an "event" can be configured for each alarm to be executed during alarm time - "event" can be playing a media file, executing a program, etc. - each alarm can be enabled or disabled - Each alarm is "persistant", it will not goes off until you clicked OK - notification of missed alarm when the program starts, this will let you have a chance to execute missed alarm events - multiple alarms with the same time allowed - multiple unanswered alarms allowed - minimizes in the system tray Program files ============= Well, there are only 3 files: - this README.TXT file you are currently reading, - the executable file ROBALARM.EXE, and - the registration file REGISTER.TXT. You must be wondering where is the usual help file? Well, the program is designed to be very simple, intuitive and easy to use. I believe that at the first look, you will know how to use the program. Also, the first time you run Alarm!, the program will give you 5 examples on the type of alarms and events you can have. Go through each of them carefully and you will discover the usefulness of this program. Moreover, I would not want to have another file to take up your precious harddisk space. All the necessary program information are here and after reading this file, you may delete it too. Installation ============ Too, there is no installation program that will take up your harddisk space. Simply put the executable file ROBALARM.EXE anywhere you want and create a "shortcut" of the file ROBALARM.EXE in the Windows directory: Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp so that the program will automatically be launched when Windows starts. If you want the program to run minimized when Windows starts, you can set the property of the shortcut to run minimized. To know how you can create and set the property of a shortcut, please refer to the Windows95 help.
