Name
The Name box allows you to set the name of the persistent channel.

The standard IRC channel naming convention is fully supported. The name of an IRC-compatible channel can contain between 1 and 200 ANSI characters, but must begin with a valid channel prefix. The channel prefix is a one- or two-character prefix that identifies the type of channel. A number sign (#) denotes an IRC global channel. An ampersand (&) denotes an IRC local channel. A percent sign (%) followed by a number sign or an ampersand denotes an extended global channel or an extended local channel, respectively.

All characters except null, bell, carriage return, line feed, space, comma, and backslash are permitted in the channel name.

The name of a channel that allows only Microsoft Internet Chat (MIC) protocol connections can contain between 1 and 63 ANSI or Unicode characters. All characters except null, bell, carriage return, line feed, space, comma, and backslash are permitted.
