Transcribing Conversations in a Persistent Channel

Complete the following steps to transcribe conversations in a persistent channel.

To transcribe conversations in a persistent channel

1. From the Chat Service Manager utility, select a chat server under Microsoft Exchange Chat Service in the left pane.
2. Select Extensions in the left pane.
3. Verify that the Channel Transcription extension is displayed in the right pane. If it is not, from the Action menu, choose New, and then choose Add extension. Select the Channel Transcription extension, and then choose OK.
4. Select Channels (Rooms), and then select the channel in the right pane.
5. From the Action menu, choose Properties.
6. From the Extensions property sheet, select the Channel Transcription extension, and then choose Properties.
7. Select the Transcribe this channel check box, and then choose OK.

Tip To transcribe conversations in all persistent channels on the server, select the (Transcribe by default) New persistent channels check box in the service's Channel Transcription property sheet.

Tip You can also transcribe conversations in a persistent channel from a chat client using the following command:

EXTMSG TSCRIPT START NAME=channel_name
