Support for DB6 and DB8
The Lotus cc:Mail source extractor supports both DB6 and DB8 formats. The following are issues to consider when migrating from Lotus cc:Mail DB6 to Microsoft Exchange Server.
- All subfolders, user mailboxes, and bulletin boards that don't contain messages are migrated.
- If migration is being run from a computer that is not hosting the Lotus cc:Mail postoffice, you must copy EXPORT.EXE version 5.1 or later 5.x versions to a directory in the path on the computer performing the migration.
The following are issues to consider when migrating from Lotus cc:Mail DB8 to Microsoft Exchange Server.
- All messages are migrated to a Microsoft Exchange Server information store or personal folder file as read messages, regardless of their read/unread status. All messages in the original Lotus cc:Mail database are also marked as read. If you want to preserve the read/unread status of messages in your Lotus cc:Mail database, you should back up the database before migrating messages from Lotus cc:Mail to Microsoft Exchange Server.
- The Lotus cc:Mail source extractor does not migrate empty subfolders from cc:Mail DB8. However, it does migrate user mailboxes and bulletin boards that don't contain messages.
- If migration is being run from a computer that is not hosting the Lotus cc:Mail postoffice, you must copy EXPORT.EXE and IMPORT.EXE version 8.0 or later, and the IE.RI file to a directory in the path on the computer performing the migration.
- User passwords are changed to a random password. Random passwords are saved in a file called CCMAIL.PASSWORD in the directory specified for migration files.
