_________________________________________________ C o o k i e C r u n c h e r Version 2.11 By Mark Richter Rendering Better Avenues Software August 14, 1997 _________________________________________________ Installation ============ If you are using a previous version of Cookie Cruncher you must first uninstall it. For directions on uninstalling go to the bottom of this pages. Unzip Cook211.Zip to any directory. You must use an uncompressor that supports long file names. Make sure that any DOS name options are turned off. Run SETUP.EXE. You will be prompted to change the directory, or install. If you wish to change the application's directory, select change directory. Then select install program. Setup will take care of the rest. If this is your first time installing the program, when you run Cookie Cruncher for the first time it will kick you into its setup program. Click find on the apporiate find buttons. After you have setup Cookie Cruncher, hit save. Setting Up Cookie Cruncher ========================== At any time you can reconfigure Cookie Cruncher by clicking on the setup box from the main menu. You will be given eight items that you can setup to run with Cookie Cruncher. You select the search drive by selecting a drive under the label Sear On Drive. Here is the list and the format they should be in. You can enter the data manually or have Cookie Cruncher find them by clicking on the find button: Netscape Program - this is your actual Netscape EXE file. It must include the full path name and EXE file. (ex: C:\Netscape\Netscape.EXE) Netscape COOKIES.TXT - this is the Cookie file that netscape creates. If this file is read only, no cookies will be saved on your hard drive. If you want to utilize Cookie Cruncher, the file must be write enabled. It must include the full path and file name. (ex. D:\Netscape\Cookies.TXT) Explorer Program - this is your actual Explorer EXE file. It must include the full path name and EXE file. (ex. E:\Program Files\iexplore.EXE) Cookies Directory - this is the directory Explorer saves cookies to. It must include the full path and a "\". (ex. C:\Windows\Cookies\) America On Line Program - this is your actual AOL EXE file. it must include the full path and EXE file. (ex. D:\AOL\AOL.EXE) Cookie Cruncher Program - this is your actual Cookie Cruncher EXE file. It is used only if you want to create a link on your desktop. It must include the full path and the EXE file. (ex. C:\Program Files\Coookie Cruncher\Cookie Cruncher.EXE) Exactname of Dial Up Adaptor - Used to start your dial up connection. It is case sensitive and it must be the exact spelling of your dial up adaptor. (ex. GTE, OnRamp, ATT. If it is gte, then GTE would not work.) Add Cookie Crunher to your desktop - adds A link to Cookie Cruncher on your desktop. To remove it, run setup again and uncheck this box. Then hit save. Uninstalling ============ To uninstall a previous version or version 2.11 follow these steps: Hit the start button, select Settings, then Control Panel.
