HOW TO INSTALL NETDIAL: If you are reading this file, then you have uncompressed ND2xx.ZIP, (where xx is the minor version number) and should now have the 2 following files on your hard drive: 1. INSTALL.TXT (You're reading this now) 2. READ.ME Information file 2. SETUP.EXE Setup program for NetDial To install NetDial from Windows 3.1: - From the Program Manager select [F]ile, [R]un - Type "[Path to Setup.exe]\SETUP" and press ENTER To install NetDial from Windows 95: - Select the "Start" button from the Windows 95 TaskBar - Select "Run" - Type "[Path to Setup.exe]\SETUP" and press ENTER When NetDial installation is complete, you will have a "NetDial" group added to your desktop. To run NetDial, double click the 'NetDial' icon in this group. For help on using NetDial, double click the 'NetDial Help' icon in this group. Help is available from anywhere within NetDial by pressing 'F1' or the 'Help' button (if there is one displayed). INSTALLATION DIFFICULTIES ------------------------- SETUP PROGRAM REPORTS "OLD FILE FORMAT" AND EXITS This message relates to CTL3DV2.DLL, and is telling you that the CTL3DV2.DLL file on your system is old. Find all instances of CTL3DV2.DLL on your system and delete them. Then re-run the NetDial setup program. NETDIAL DISPLAYS "CTL3DV2.DLL NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED" This message tells you that the file CTL3DV2.DLL exists somewhere on your system besides your windows SYSTEM directory. Find all instances of CTL3DV2.DLL and delete them. If CTL3DV2.DLL exists in your SYSTEM directory, leave it there. If it doesn't exist, re-run the NetDial setup program. UPON STARTUP, NETDIAL REPORTS "[filename] IS OUT OF DATE..." This message means that the file [filename] is old. Find all instances of the file on your system and delete them. Then re-run the NetDial setup program. Good places to look are the WINDOWS directory and any directories in your path.
