Faxware Global Address Book Requirements Windows 95 or NT Unzip into a temporary directory i.e. c:\temp then run fxwgabsetup.exe or fxwgab~1.exe which will install the Address Book Provider. Thanks for installing Faxware's Global Address Book. This application is designed for use on Win95 and Windows NT 4.x operating systems that are using 32bit Mapi Email applications. These include such applications as Windows Messaging, Exchange Client, Outlook etc. The purpose of this software is to allow all users access and updating ability to a common address book for Internet Email addresses. There are two parts to this application. Part One The first part is the database maintenance application. This application will maintain the list of Internet Email Addresses and Display Names, that you need to make available to all your users. At any time by any user, this application can export the database of users to an Address Book that can be accessed by the email system. You should therefore make this application available to all users that need to maintain Internet Email addresses. The FXWGABDB.INI file contains the location of where the exported Address Book will reside and the location of the Address Book database. These should be placed in a sharable area where everyone has rights to update and access the files. You may need to edit the FXWGABDB.INI file so that the locations of the export file and Address Book point to the shared area. We recommend each user that requires the ability to update the database run the installation routine so that the correct files are installed. The application and readme files will be put into the directory as entered in the installation and the Faxware Global Address Book will have a shortcut Icon placed on the Desktop. Part Two The second part is the installation of the address book service for the Email software to use. This is installed by executing FXWGabAdd.EXE (self installing executable) which adds the Faxware Global Address Book to the list of available services within your Mail Profile. Note: FXWGabAdd is automatically executed when installing the Address Book maintenance. For those 32bit Mapi Mail users that do not need to maintain the Address Book, this executable can be emailed to them and when executed the service "Faxware Global Address Book" will be available to add to a profile. To add the service to your Profile: * select the Properties of your Outlook or Inbox icon using either: the Email client (Tools / Services) or the Desktop (right Click the Inbox or Outlook Icon and select Properties) the Control Panel clicking on the Mail Icon * then select Add * choose the Faxware Global Address Book and select OK * with the Faxware Global Address Book highlighted select Properties * locate the export.gab file that is exported from the maintenance application. Note: To use the new address book, you will need to close the Email client and wait (approx. 40 secs) for the Mapi spooler to shut down, before restarting the Email client.
