WHAT IS THE ENVELOPER CORPS?

The Enveloper Corps is an electronic community designed to bring together the collective genius of the Internet. Built upon Envelop Engine, it is organized around an electronic marketplace and a series of technical forums. In the marketplace, members can both sell the technology they produce and get the technology and services they need. In the discussion forums, the Corps will determine the direction of Envelop Engine and the community.

Enveloper Corps members can upload the objects and components they create to our web site. We will review them and offer them to the 'Net in our electronic store. We maintain the marketing infrastructure -- the boring stuff like collecting taxes, cataloguing transactions, taking credit card orders, etc. -- and Corps members concentrate on creating new technology . . . and collecting royalty checks every month.

The Corps will also help us make Envelop Engine the best rapid application development tool on the market. They will help us determine how Envelop Engine and its objects should behave and change. In the technical forums, we will exchange ideas about improvements not only to the development tools, but also to the community and the marketplace. The Corps itself will determine how we can make the community most effective for its members. Because in the end, we believe that a shared environment, not just a shared language, is required for the optimum development of objects and tools.

In essence, the Corps is a forum for the collective voice of technologists. It is a community where the opinions of technologists are valued above the opinions of the "suits." In the Corps, you will have maximum influence over the direction of the development platform and every other aspect of the community. In the Corps, you will have a voice and you will be heard.


JOINING THE CORPS

Joining the Enveloper Corps is easy! It's as simple as 1-2-3: 

1.  Download Envelop Engine. 
2.  Create an Envelop object. 
3.  Upload your object to our web site: http://www.envelop.com

With the Envelop help files and the free objects available in the Envelop Exchange, you'll be creating your own Envelop objects very quickly. But if you do have questions along the way, come back and drop in on our user forums. You can meet other Envelopers and discuss some of the finer points in using Envelop Engine.

Please note that at this time there is no charge to join the Enveloper Corps, but it's not free. The price of membership is one Envelop object. As you envelop additional objects, you will be able to offer them for sale in the Envelop Exchange, but the first one is for the benefit of the community. We don't want your money, we want your technology!
