ByeLines is a program for creating E-Mail or newsgroup signature files. It works with any program that uses ASCII files for a signature; such as Netscape, Agent, Pegasus, Eudora or Microsoft's E-Mail and NewsGroup programs. ByeLines will append taglines to your signature and change the tagline periodically.

ByeLines features include changing taglines on multiple signature files simultaniously, spell checking, unlimited size tagline database, and multi-line taglines, to name a few.

The unregistered version of ByeLines may be distibuted freely. ByeLines is shareware and must be registered after 30 days. The database in the unregistered version is restricted to a maximum of 15 taglines. Needless to say, I encourage you to register! After all, it is only US$10!

Upgrading from ByeLines 3.1.X.X or earlier:

If you have any version of ByeLines earlier than version 3.2.X.X currently installed, and you are upgrading to Version 3.2 or later, you need to do the following:

1. Backup everything in your ByeLines program directory and it's subdirectories.  Install and run the database converter. The converter can be found at "ftp://ftp.kyler.com/pub/ByeLines/Beta/BLConverter.zip ." I recommend that you install the converter in the same directory where ByeLines now resides. Convert all your old ByeLines 3.1 databases.

2. Uninstall BOTH the converter AND ByeLines 3.X. Use the "Custom Uninstall" option. Save the ByeLines program directory and its subdirectories. Uninstall the Borland Database Engine (BDE). If you need to switch back, you can run the BL304 installation and reinstall the BDE.

3. Go into your registry (using REGEDIT) and delete the following keys: (all keys are under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER root key.)

"Software | YakWorks | ByeLines | MRU DB Items" and 
"Software | YakWorks | ByeLines | Configuration | DBFile"

4. Install ByeLines 3.2.
