NOTE: The information presented on these pages is entirely of my own "research". Please feel free to correct (or validate) my information. A further note on my info: The best argument I can give for Load Balancing is basically this - Lots of people already have second phone lines, and lots of people are looking for some way to get more out of what they already have without investing in new and 'exotic' technologies. I don't know if it is fair to compare Load Balancing against ISDN and 56k modems. ISDN is technically superior to load balancing and 56k modems, but it is pricey. Load Balancing appears to outperform 56k modems and it doesn't require an expensive piece of new (and un-standardized) hardware. Load Balancing is an alternative that lets a person make better use of what they already have. One other thing - Yes, Load Balancing has been around for quite some time. Windows NT 4.0 supports it, Linux supports and there are probably others as well. This page is just a simple guide on how to do it with Win95 (which doesn't directly support load balancing). Since Windows 95 is so pervasive, I thought people might find this info interesting...
