----------------------------------------------------------- mpeg Encoder - http://users.bART.nl/~soloh/mpegEnc.html ----------------------------------------------------------- Why did I make this? Well I came across some source by ISO, and just felt like programming a nice interface with it. And now for some specs: - windows 95/NT only (maybe win32s) - multithreaded - layer 1,2 : mono, stereo, joint stereo audio mpg I (32, 44.1, 48 kHz) audio mpg II (16, 22.05, 24 kHz) - layer 3 : mono, stereo audio mpg I (32, 44.1, 48 kHz) - wide range of bitrates - miscellanious flags - sources: 16 bit raw pcm 16 or 8 bit wav pcm scsi cdrom source - multifile or track select (let your computer do the work at night) - codec support (if you have it) - pretty slow - progress indicator - and more... :) How to get started: Very easy. The left pane is the source or input-file. 1. Locate your 'wanna-be mpg' file 2. Select the frequency/samplingrate of the source 3. Select the layer (1, 2 or 3). 4. Select a desired bitrate. Note: this is the total bitrate! This means that 128kbps for a stereo source is the same quality as 64kbps for a mono source. 5. On the right you can select your destination directory, where you want your mpeg-file. The file extension will be changed depending on the layer chosen (eg. .mpg .mp2 .mp3) 6. Finally click on 'Encode'. Pressing it again will abort the proces and NO resume is possible. (Something for later). Sorry for all the undocumented options, but I hate writing docs. And.. on the internet is all the information you need. (ahum..) If you like or use my mpeg Encoder, please send me a nice postcard. Something typical of the country or place you live in. It's not a lot of effort and you'll make me happy!
